RTX 5060 Ti sales stats suggest nobody is rushing to buy the 8GB model
Table of Contents
It seems that customers are not in a rush to buy the 8GB model of the RTX 5060 Ti. Despite many models already being sold out, reports indicate that customers are far more interested in the 16GB version.
Despite reports of some retailers not receiving stock, the RTX 5060 Ti has had a decent launch in most regions. At least, the 16GB version has. The same cannot be said of the 8GB variant, which is apparently being mostly ignored by customers.
There has been some controversy surrounding the launch of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. Some have accused Nvidia of a ‘paper launch' whilst others say Nvidia is blocking 8GB versions from being distributed to reviewers. The 8GB version sales are also said to be lagging far behind the 16GB version, according to figures shared online.
German retailer Mindfactory reports no 8GB sales on launch day
Popular German retailer Mindfactory’s sales data was posted on Twitter/X by 3DCenter, and these figures indicated that it had sold over 105 units, though all of these were the 16GB version. No 8GB models were sold.
At the time of writing, Mindfactory still has RTX 5060 Ti models in stock, with both the 16GB and 8GB models listed as available. Notably, they also appear to be at MSRP, with the 8GB model at €399 and the 16GB version for €449. It is unusual to hear of Nvidia RTX 50 series partner cards at MSRP, but this situation only seems to be the case in Europe.
It is difficult to obtain a wider picture from a small sample size, but it at least looks like the RTX 5060 Ti launch is not a disaster, at least in Europe. Nvidia still faces an uphill battle to regain consumer confidence, especially with rumors that AMD is planning on releasing the RX 9060 XT next month.
