The RTX 5090 is Nvidia’s flagship gaming GPU, and getting one has remained difficult due to limited availability and extremely high prices (though Nvidia says it’s not being discontinued just yet). That makes shipments containing dozens of these graphics cards particularly valuable, and one Brazilian distributor is now trying to find out what happened to a large RTX 5090 shipment that reportedly disappeared after reaching an airport.

The incident involves Oderço, a Brazilian IT and electronics distributor that has been operating for 38 years. According to the company, two pallets containing Zotac RTX 5090 graphics cards went missing after arriving at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, Brazil. The shipment was reportedly worth around 2.5 million Brazilian reais, or roughly $490,000, based on what the distributor paid for the hardware.

However, that figure only represents the estimated wholesale value of the shipment. The GPUs could be worth significantly more once retail pricing is taken into account, especially considering how expensive RTX 5090 models have become.

Statement from Oderço

OFFICIAL STATEMENT 🚨

In over 38 years of history, we have never experienced a situation like this, and we will not remain silent.

Two pallets of Zotac RTX 5090 video cards have disappeared at Guarulhos International Airport. This represents approximately R$ 2.5 million worth of merchandise, at cost price, and so far we have received no answers.

We are seeking clarification and want to understand what happened. How can a shipment of this value disappear within an international airport without any information about the case?

We are making this situation public because we need answers. We expect those responsible to speak out and for this shipment to be located.

Oderço has publicly spoken about the missing shipment and says it has contacted the parties involved in an attempt to find out what happened. However, the company claims it has yet to receive an official explanation about where the two pallets went. The distributor also described the situation as highly unusual, saying it has never experienced anything similar during its 38 years in business.

Exactly how many RTX 5090 GPUs were inside the pallets hasn’t been confirmed. One estimate suggests there could have been at least 63 cards based on the reported shipment value and local pricing, though the actual number may differ. Without an official inventory of the missing shipment, there is currently no way to confirm the exact figure.

It also remains unclear exactly when the shipment disappeared, where it was within the airport’s handling process at the time, or who may have been responsible. Given the value of the missing hardware, the two pallets represent a significant loss for the distributor if they cannot be recovered.
