AMD fans are looking forward to the launch of the RX 8000-series GPU lineup, rumored to be unveiled in Q1 2025. However, the upcoming lineup may not include a high-end card, so people will most likely need to stick to the current series for high-performance graphics from Team Red.

And as the hype for the next lineup is building up, we’re seeing big discounts on some current-gen cards, such as the RX 7900 XTX and RX 7800 XT.

RX 7900 XTX and RX 7800 XT drop to lowest-ever prices

Right now, the RX 7900 XTX is available for only $819.99 on Amazon. Previously, it was listed for $899.99, but thanks to the 9% discount, you can save $80 on it. We’ve seen some discounts on the card before. But if you look at its price history on Camelcamelcamel, this is the lowest price ever for the card. You’ll also get two free games with the card, and you can choose from a wide range of titles, including Once Human and Final Fantasy XVI.

The RX 7900 XTX is the top model in the RX 7000 series lineup. We gave it 4.5 out of 5 marks in our in-depth review as we found it to be a powerful card for 4K gaming. In Cyberpunk 2077, the card managed to deliver 70 FPS at 4K with the graphics settings set to Ultra, and the number jumped to 137 after we switched the resolution to 1440p. On the other hand, in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, we were consistently getting more than 100 FPS at 4K and around 160 FPS at 1440p.

The 7800 XT, a mid-range option in the 7000 series, has also dropped to its lowest-ever price on Amazon, according to Camelcamelcamel. Previously, the card was available for $489.99, but you can now get it for only $449.99 and save $40 in the process.

We also reviewed the RX 7800 XT and tested it in several games. In Cyberpunk 2077, with everything set to Ultra, the card was able to hit 91 FPS at 1440p and 140 FPS at 1080p. On the other hand, in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, we were able to get 108 FPS at 1440p and 132 FPS at 1080p. Even at 4K, we were constantly getting more than 60 FPS. So, while the card is mainly meant for 1440p gaming, it can run some titles smoothly at 4K.

In any case, the deals are great for those who are either looking for a high-performance GPU for their rig or want something that offers a great balance between price and performance. As we get closer to the release of the 8000-series lineup, we can expect to see more discounts.
