Recently, a huge security issue was found across multiple generations of Ryzen processors. This means every CPU, including Zen 1, Zen 2, Zen 3, and Zen 4, was at risk of being tampered with, which could’ve spelled catastrophe worldwide. Thankfully, AMD quickly noticed the Sinkclose vulnerability, and there was a quick fix to mitigate it: you only needed to update your BIOS. That said, for everyday users, it was a bit technical, as you need specific knowledge to do so.

On top of that, what was more concerning was that the Ryzen 3000 or “Matisse” CPUs were seemingly not on the supported list, which raised a lot of questions. However, AMD updated their SMM Lock Bypass bulletin, and the patch for Ryzen 3000 processors should be out now on August 20th.

That said, we don’t know which microcode update will feature this patch as AMD hasn’t disclosed it yet, but according to the “Revisions” on the bulletin, the patch is now available as it has a target date of “2024-08-20″.
