After months of waiting, AMD has finally launched the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D. The first CPU in the 9000X3D series, the 9800X3D, was released back in November, and many were eagerly waiting for the next two models. However, as soon as the 9950X3D was available on Amazon, it sold out almost instantly. Now, with Amazon out of stock, third-party sellers have taken over, hiking the price way above the official retail price.

9950X3D is being sold for over $1,000 on Amazon

Amazon sells products directly, but when it runs out of stock, third-party sellers take the top spot. Amazon's system automatically features the cheapest price available, so once Amazon's stock is gone, the next lowest-priced seller gets displayed. Right now, if you go to the product page of the 9950X3D, you'll see that it is listed as out of stock. However, clicking on “Other sellers on Amazon” reveals that the remaining stock is being sold at ridiculous prices.

Currently, three sellers are selling the 9950X3D for over $1,000. In fact, one of them has listed it for $1,499. Earlier, there was one seller offering it for $949, but even that stock has completely sold out. This shows just how fast buyers are grabbing this CPU, even at inflated prices.

Most of these third-party sellers are scalpers who are using the stock issues to their advantage. Now that Amazon's official batch of the 9950X3D is gone, they are listing it at absurd prices to make a huge profit. This has happened before with popular GPUs and high-end processors, and now it’s happening with the 9950X3D.

Luckily, the Ryzen 9 9900X3D is still in stock on Amazon at its official price. However, once the official stock runs out, scalpers will do the same thing with the 9900X3D and list it at higher prices. If you're planning to buy one, it might be best to grab it before it's too late.
