Samsung has finally unveiled the U.S. release date and pricing details for the Galaxy Z TriFold. Eager Samsung fans have been able to demo the device at select Samsung Experience Stores across California, Minnesota, New York, and Texas since last Friday (January 23), and now wide availability is penciled in for the 30th of the month.

The foldable phone, which expands out to a more tablet-sized 10″ form factor, was announced at the tail end of last year and certainly turned heads. Especially during a time when rival brand Apple is yet to release a foldable phone (though we could get one later this year, if rumors are to be believed).

How much does the Galaxy Z Trifold cost?

The Galaxy Z Trifold starts at a whopping $2,899.00 for the 512GB model and will be available on January 30, exclusively at Samsung’s online store and Samsung Experience locations. Before this announcement, we could only base our predictions on the previously announced Korean pricing – now there’s no need for speculation.

It’s not yet known how much the 1TB model will cost in the U.S, but we expect it to be in the ballpark of $200 or $300 extra, though we have seen Samsung doubling storage for free in the past. We should soon find out once listings go live on the Samsung store; both variants come with 16GB of RAM, and the device is available in just one color: Crafted Black.

While we wait for the Trifold to appear on the official store, Samsung has a countdown in place to let you know exactly when it goes live. You may also sign up for notifications to ensure you’re first in line to pick one up. We tend to see Samsung Galaxy tech – including the brand’s range of smartphones – available for pre-order on the official store, so there’s a chance the January 30 date is simply when you can pre-order, leaving the actual launch date for early February. We’ll have to wait and see.
