Valve announced the Steam Machine just last week, and the reveal sent immediate excitement across the gaming community. The Steam Machine is planned to ship in early 2026, though Valve has not shared a specific release date yet. Even so, the hype is strong enough that someone has already created a full 3D-printed model of the device only days after it was revealed.

If you head over to Maker World, you can now find a 3D-printed model of the Steam Machine designed by a user named HC. This creator has previously listed 3D models for the Nintendo Switch 2, and their newest project is a life-size model of Valve’s upcoming mini PC. Perfect if you want to create a custom front panel, which we’ve already seen is interchangeable. Or something a little more ambitious, like the Companion Cube model that dbrand has announced.

1:1 replica of the Steam Machine

According to HC, they decided to create a model of the Steam Machine right after the announcement. They explained that the model was made to match the real device as closely as possible, based only on the images and videos Valve has shown so far. Valve also provides the device’s dimensions on its official specs page here.

To make printing easier for home users, they designed the model in three separate pieces so it can be printed without any support material. HC also made two versions of the front panel – one that is blank and another featuring the Half-Life ‘Lambda’ logo. They also mentioned that the front panel can be customized, allowing users to add their own designs.

Anyone can download the files for free on Maker World. If you own a 3D printer, you can get started right away and print the model at home. For those without a 3D printer, HC has listed a finished version on Etsy for £39.99. The Etsy model arrives partially disassembled; the pieces can be permanently attached using super glue (sold separately).

Obviously, there’s no hardware inside, but you could use it as a case for something like your Raspberry Pi or another small-form-factor device. Valve has already shown off some interesting front panel designs for the Steam Machine, and we’re keen to see how else people will customize it once it arrives next year.
