Steam’s Halloween sale is starting today, October 27 (it crosses over to the 28th in some regions). Officially known as the Steam Scream Fest, or just Steam Scream, this event celebrates horror games, Halloween-themed games, or generally anything else with a spooky vibe. Valve’s popular PC gaming platform will see prices slashed on hundreds of titles for the next week, until November 3.

Now that the sale is about to go live, we’ve put together everything you need to know, including the exact start time in your region. All the details for the fourth iteration of Scream Fest are just below.

When does the 2025 Steam Halloween Sale start?

What to expect from Steam Scream Fest?

Valve actually released an official trailer for Steam Scream IV a few days ago, so we already know of some games getting a discount this week:

  • The Quarry
  • DayZ
  • Project Zomboid
  • Arizona Sunshine
  • Look Outside
  • The Forest
  • Blood Typers
  • Birth
  • Dread Flats
  • Phasmophobia
  • Darkest Dungeon II
  • Killer Frequency
  • MiSide
  • Scarlett Hollow
  • Love, Ghostie

Aside from that list of “spooky and spoopy” titles, we can expect to see deals on popular horror picks such as Dead by Daylight, Alien: Isolation, the Outlast series, and more. As far as the best discounts go, in the region of 85% off is a solid bet (The Quarry is already discounted by this much until November 3).

Be sure to check our list of all upcoming Steam sales for the remainder of the year. The next big one to look forward to is the winter sale. Before then, Steam is also hosting ‘Animal Fest’ and ‘Sports Fest’. Valve has recently said it wants to experiment with “more niche” Steam sales next year, so we’re excited to see what events are on the horizon.
