The last big Steam sale of the year is finally here, as the Steam Winter Sale will begin very soon. It marks the final major seasonal sale of 2025, and users will have to wait until March 2026 to enjoy the next one. For many PC gamers, this is the best chance of the year to grab great deals on games they have been waiting to buy.

With so little time left, we can finally count down the hours and minutes left until the Winter Sale goes live. However, due to time zone differences, the start time will be different for everyone.

When will the Steam Winter Sale start today?

According to Valve, the Steam Winter Sale will kick off today at 10 AM PST. However, the start time will be different for everyone, depending on where you live. To help you out, we’ve mentioned the start times for different regions below.

  • Los Angeles – 10 AM PST (December 18)
  • New York – 1 PM EST (December 18)
  • London – 6 PM GMT (December 18)
  • Berlin – 7 PM CET (December 18)
  • Tokyo – 3 AM JST (December 19)
  • Sydney – 5 AM AEST (December 19)

To make things easier for you, we’ve also added a countdown clock below, which will help you keep track of the hours and minutes left. However, if you can not see the clock, it means the sale has already started, and you can start expanding your game library.

Valve released a trailer for the sale, and it gives us a good idea of some of the games you can expect to see discounted. Big hit titles like Borderlands 4, Dying Light: The Beast, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Dispatch, and Hades 2 are confirmed to be part of the sale.

Aside from big hits, older games will also be discounted. Classic favorites from past years often get strong price cuts during these sales. However, you can also expect to see a 10 to 15% discount on newer games. While this might not be as big as older games, it still gives you a chance to save a bit compared to the full price.
