Video games can be expensive, which is why most gamers wait for sales events to grab their favorite games at discounted prices. Thankfully, Steam hosts different sales events throughout the year, and their Autumn Sale is just around the corner. This is one of the biggest sales of the year, where you can expect to save big on a great number of titles.

As one of Steam’s major seasonal sales, the Autumn event is home to some of the biggest discounts of the year. The last major sale was back in June (and July) for the Summer Sale, which saw widespread discounts as per usual.

When will the Steam Autumn Sale 2024 start?

The Steam Autumn Sale is due to go live tomorrow, November 27; the sale will conclude on December 4. In other words, you’ll have seven days to save as much as you can.

You may feel like this year’s Autumn sale is a little later than usual, especially since it crosses over into December. Well, that only means that it will be closely followed by the Winter Sale which is scheduled to take place December 19th – January 2nd.

What to expect from the Steam Autumn Sale in 2024?

As mentioned earlier, the Autumn Sale is one of the biggest sales events hosted by Steam, and it slashes the price of almost every game. While you can’t expect to see huge discounts on new releases, you can save big on games that were released more than a year ago. Sometimes, we also see decent discounts on six-month-old titles.

Top 10 games we expect on sale

  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • God of War
  • The Last of Us Part I
  • Starfield
  • Diablo IV
  • Crysis Remastered Trilogy
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Monster Hunter: World
  • Baldur’s Gate 3

Last year, Cyberpunk 2077 was available for 50% off during the Steam Autumn Sale, which dropped its price to only $29.99. Furthermore, another popular title, Red Dead Redemption 2, was listed for $19.79, which was 67% less than its original price. Titles like God of War, The Last of Us, Starfield, and Diablo IV were available for 40%, 33%, 20%, and 40% off, respectively.

This year, you can expect the same discounts on these and similar titles. The discounts will most likely range from 10 to 60%, but we’ve also seen cases where a game is available for 90% off. However, this mostly happens with old titles. Aside from that, we also have some new releases this year, such as Stalker 2, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Black Ops 6, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

At the moment, it’s difficult to tell whether we’ll see these games on sale as they are relatively fresh, and it’s rare to see new titles going on sale. Even if their prices do get slashed during the event, the discounts might be only around 5%. Another one we’re looking forward to is God of War: Ragnarok, a game which is yet to see a discount on Steam. The original God of War reboot has been regularly discounted, so the time may have come for Ragnarok, which was released for PC in September.

Top 5 games we hope to get a first-time (or rare) discount

All of the games below have yet to get a price drop on Steam according to SteamDB, except for Helldivers 2, which was first discounted by 20% in September.

  • Black Myth: Wukong
  • God of War: Ragnarok
  • Helldivers 2
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
  • Hades II

We also recommend keeping an eye on different bundles on Steam, as they’ll help you save more on a number of titles. For instance, we’ve seen the Zombie Army Trilogy bundle drop as low as $4.49 from $44.99 during a sales event, which was a massive 85% discount. Similarly, the Crysis Remastered Trilogy bundle has also been listed with a 75% discount multiple times. In any case, we’ll make sure to update you with the best deals when the Steam Autumn Sale 2024 kicks off.
