The Raspberry Pi Pico 2 was released this year, and its impregnable fortress, the RP2350 chip, powers it. Hextree.io, a cybersecurity company, audited this chip, and Raspberry Pi is so confident in its security measures that it gave the people at DEF CON a free shot at hacking it.

When no one succeeded, they challenged anyone with this chip to hack and extract the “secret” stored in the secure storage following some specific instructions. They offered a whopping $10,000 cash price and set the deadline for 7th September 2024. The deadline is over, and the chip still hasn't been broken, showing that the company didn't misplace its confidence.

The 10K prize has been doubled to 20K

In a recent post, they upped the ante and made it more interesting by extending the deadline to midnight, December 31st, 2024 (UK time), doubling the prize to $20,000. This is a very alluring amount of cash, and if you think you can succeed where others have failed, head over to the RP2350 hacking challenge on GitHub to get the complete information and get started.
