The most high-end of the three offerings we’ve listed for you here today, the AWD-IT AIR 5400 comes as standard with the mighty AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor: the best gaming CPU of the previous generation, which we scored 4.5/5 in our review. This is paired with one of the best graphics cards currently available – the NVIDIA RTX 5080 (which we also scored 4.5/5) – which is capable of making mincemeat out of any game at 4K resolution, even more so at 1440p/QHD. When benchmarked with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D (an upgrade option on this PC deal), we saw the RTX 5080 achieve an average FPS of 151 at 1440p and 72 at 4K on the notoriously demanding Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra settings without DLSS/MFG enabled, and up to 183 FPS at 4K with Ray-Tracing Overdrive settings with DLSS Performance and MFG set to 4x. Hugely impressive results compared to the competition.

The premium Corsair AIR 5400 RS-R ARGB case that houses these powerful components has striking wrap-around glass, dedicated triple-chamber architecture, and bundled reverse-rotor ARGB fans, delivering superb thermal performance – plus nice, clean cable routing.

For the advertised £1,999.99 price you get 16GB of Kingston Fury Beast 5600 MT/s RAM, plus 512GB of SSD storage, but we recommend upgrading these to 32GB and 1TB respectively for an additional £125.

A strong upper-mid-range build geared toward 1440p gaming (or even 4K if you fully utilize the benefits of DLSS 4), the AWD-IT Y40 Snow White is an impressive bit of kit. The Ryzen 5 7600 CPU provides snappy single-core performance, while the RTX 5070 hits hard – delivering raw raster performance roughly comparable to an RTX 4080, but with all the NVIDIA 50-series benefits of DLSS 4 and MTG, whilst remaining significantly cheaper than the RTX 5080. In our benchmarking of the GPU (again with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D), we recorded an average FPS of 108 at 1440p resolution on Ultra settings in Cyberpunk 2077 without DLSS/MTG, and 120 FPS at 4K resolution with Ray-Tracing Overdrive settings with DLSS Performance and MFG set to 4x. On Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered on max settings the game achieved an average FPS of 116 at 1440p and 64 FPS at 4K without DLSS/MTG. Impressive stats indeed.

This PC is the first of the two all-white builds on offer. The dual full-glass panels of the Snow White HYTE Y40 case, along with the white finish on all the components within, including the RGB fans, looks absolutely great. The vertically mounted GPU also sets this case apart from the other two models. 

If you can spare the extra £200, we would probably recommend upgrading the CPU to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, with all the gaming benefits that the 3D V-cache on this chip brings, but even as it is, this a powerful, yet affordable, machine.

Finally, we have the AWD-IT Xpanse ICE White variant, which comes with the same core specs as the Y40 model above (an RTX 5070 plus Ryzen 5 7600), but a different motherboard, cheaper AIO cooler and PSU, plus of course, a different case. We’ve provided stats on the same GPU above, but just to give you some more, we recorded an average 95 FPS when playing F1 24 at 1440p resolution on maximum settings and 89 FPS in Indiana Jones at the Great Circle at 4K – purely using rasterization performance in both cases (without DLSS/MTG).

The Xpanse case that envelops this PC comes with an additional pane of tempered glass across the top, allowing you to peer in at the full-spectrum ARGB lighting from above. Its ATX-sized interior offers ample space, and cable routing is tidy with built-in channels.

Once again, you can expect great 1440p performance and even better FPS in 1080p scenarios with this PC. Again though we’d recommend spending the additional cost to upgrade the CPU to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D if possible, to really get the most out of it.

What are the performance benefits of NVIDIA 50-series GPUs?

DLSS 4 & Multi-Frame Generation

The biggest performance uplift of the latest generation of NVIDIA cards comes from its newest implementation of DLSS and Frame-Generation technologies. In the past we’ve seen great enhancements brought about by DLSS Super Resolution (an upscaling tech that uses AI to reconstruct lower-res renders into higher-res images) plus Ray Reconstruction (which uses AI to enhance ray-traced effects). Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) is the biggest game changer of DLSS 4 though, and it’s exclusive to 50-series GPUs.

The first major iteration of this technology was Single Frame Generation: introduced in DLSS 3 with the Nvidia 40-series, it produces one extra frame for every two real frames, which could effectively more than double the ‘perceived’ FPS for the user in many games. MFG takes this even further – being able to synthetically generate up to three additional frames between two classically rendered ones, meaning perceived smoothness can increase by as much as four times in some extreme cases!

Ray-Tracing

Ray-Tracing is a feature in which NVIDIA retains a significant lead over the competition in terms of both FPS performance and fidelity. 50-series cards take this even further, too: new-gen RT cores push more operations per clock, with better concurrency between ray and shader workloads. Practically, this means you can set higher RT presets in-game (e.g. full path-tracing or multiple RT effects enabled on top of each other) whilst still keeping smooth Frames Per Second.

NVIDIA Reflex

NVIDIA Reflex is a feature that can be enabled in the settings menu of many games, which is designed to minimise system latency by optimising the communication between the CPU, GPU, and display. Effectively, Reflex reduces the delay between a mouse click and the resulting on-screen action, which is especially valuable in competitive shooters where a split-second can make all the difference between snapping off that headshot or getting domed yourself. The technology also helps to negate the increase in latency that can occur when MTG is enabled, so is turned on by default when using Frame Generation.
