As revealed towards the end of June, Xbox would be updating its console prices. These changes were effective August 1, but not every retailer seems to have gotten the memo just yet. Or at least, remaining stock is being sold off at the pre-hike price point. The popular UK toy store Smyths continues to sell Xbox Series S and Series X consoles with unchanged price tags.

Also in the UK, Argos is still selling the 1TB version of the Xbox Series X for £499.99. Following the August price increases, the 1TB model should be selling for £669.99 (digital) or £619.99 (disc), both representing a sizeable £170 price hike. Xbox says the revisions are due to “console storage and memory price” increases – the latter of which is expected to jump up to 5x higher.

While Xbox’s original announcement only covered the changes in US Dollars, along with the fact it is sunsetting the 2TB model, we can finally see the full list of price changes in the United Kingdom and Europe now that August has arrived.

United Kingdom

• Xbox Series S 512GB: £299.99 → £429.99 (+£130)
• Xbox Series S 1TB: £349.99 → £519.99 (+£170)
• Xbox Series X 1TB Digital: £449.99 → £619.99 (+£170)
• Xbox Series X 1TB Disc: £499.99 → £669.99 (+£170)

Europe

• Xbox Series S 512GB: €349.99 → €499.99 (+€150)
• Xbox Series S 1TB: €399.99 → €599.99 (+€200)
• Xbox Series X 1TB Digital: €549.99 → €749.99 (+€200)
• Xbox Series X 1TB Disc: €599.99 → €799.99 (+€200)

We can only assume these retailers are selling remaining stock before increasing their prices, despite crossing the official August 1 date. Either way, we don’t expect the pre-hike prices to stick around for long, so if you’ve looking to pick up one of these consoles, now may be your last chance to do so before the change.
