The ongoing RAM shortage is now hitting even more handheld gaming devices. Over the past few months, rising memory costs have already forced several hardware makers to adjust pricing. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 jumped to over $1,800, and even the ROG Xbox Ally X saw a price hike overseas. Now, it seems like AYN and Retroid also have to make adjustments.

AYN has officially announced that it will increase prices for both its Odin 3 and AYN Thor models this week. Earlier, the company had suggested that only the Thor lineup would be affected due to rising RAM costs. However, it seems that due to the rising cost of components, their plan has changed.

Price rises for AYN and Retroid handhelds

AYN

For the AYN Thor series, every model except the Lite will see a price increase. The Lite version, which uses the Snapdragon 865 chipset, will remain at $249. The Base model will see an increase of $10, taking its price to $319. The Pro version will jump $30 to $399, and the Max version will go up by $40 to $489. The higher-tier models use the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which likely contributes to the increased component costs.

The Odin 3 lineup is also affected, as the Base model will rise by $10 to $339. The Pro and Max versions will both increase by $40, bringing them to $439 and $489, respectively. The Odin 3 Ultra is currently out of stock, so no pricing changes were listed for that variant. All of these new prices take effect on March 8, and any orders placed before that date will keep the original pricing.

Retroid

Retroid has also confirmed changes to its Retroid Pocket 6 lineup. The 12GB version of the device will be discontinued. On the other hand, the 8GB model, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, will see a $15 increase starting today, bringing its price to $245. However, it is important to keep in mind that existing orders will not be affected.
