The Steam Autumn Sale (which is running until December 4th) didn’t only bring along discounts for games, but it actually helped slash the price of the Steam Deck. Well, just the discontinued models – the 64GB and 512GB LCD variants. Valve announced the discontinuation of these a while back as the new OLED model arrived to usher in a new line-up.
This meant the 64GB and 512GB LCD Steam Decks would only exist in the store until they were sold out. This had already happened in several regions, such as the UK, but now they are finally out of stock in the US as well. It appears that a final push to clear out remaining stock has been helped by the recent Autumn Sale discount – with the Deck appearing as a top seller in Steam’s charts – number two just behind Counter-Strike 2.
Steam Deck LCD 64GB and 512GB are now out of stock
Both models were available with decent discounts. The Steam Deck 64GB was listed for $296.65 instead of $349, while the price of the 512GB variant was reduced to $336.75 from $449. These discounts finally provided an opportunity for those who were planning to get their hands on the Steam Deck but were waiting for a good deal. However, if you’re still looking for one, you’re a little too late.
Valve’s Steam Deck is already a popular device, but these discounts made it even more appealing. The 64GB model sold out first, likely because it was the cheapest option. The 512GB model, with its larger storage space, also ran out of stock yesterday. Both models became unavailable just days after the sale started. If you missed grabbing them at a discount, your only option right now is to opt for the Steam Deck 256GB LCD model, which is available at its original price of $399.
It is important to keep in mind that the discounts were on the LCD models only. Both OLED models remained at their full price during the sale, and they’re currently available for $549 (512GB OLED) and $649 (1TB OLED). Many people were hoping to see some deals on the OLED models, but we didn’t spot anything, even during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Some users on Reddit report restocking here and there for the two discounted models, so there is a silver lining if you missed out – but we wouldn’t count on this as the Autumn Sale soon comes to a close.
