Valve reportedly receives three Steam Frame shipments, after announcing more specific order invite dates
Table of Contents
After a long wait, pre-orders for the Steam Frame kicked off last month, on September 14, when Valve opened its reservation queue. This allowed fans to sign up for a chance to order the VR headset. If you successfully pre-ordered one and are waiting for your unit to arrive, you’ll be glad to learn that Valve has received new shipments to replenish its stock.
Valve recently provided an update for those in the Steam Frame reservation queue, confirming that they’ll receive their units either by December or within a broader 2027 window. An exact delivery date was not provided, but this still gave those waiting a better idea of when they can expect to get their hands on the VR headset.
Those who did not manage to secure a spot in the reservation queue are currently on the waitlist, and once more spots open up, they’ll be moved to the main queue. In the meantime, it seems Valve is making sure operations keep running smoothly, as the company recently received three new shipments related to the Steam Frame.

Steam Frame shipments have reportedly arrived
Details of these new shipments were shared by HardwareSteam on X, showing two shipments labeled “Virtual Reality Devices” and one labeled “Virtual Reality Devices & Game Console.” There’s also a separate shipment labeled “Game Console,” which is likely the Steam Machine.
One of these shipments arrived on October 7, followed by the second on October 8. The remaining two arrived on October 9, so they are fairly recent. These shipments suggest that Valve is replenishing its VR headset stock, which could help keep deliveries on schedule for those who have pre-ordered the Steam Frame and already have an estimated delivery window.
In other news, for those who already have the Steam Frame, Valve recently released a big new software update for the VR headset, with a long list of changes and improvements. It even improved its overall power efficiency and battery life by up to 12% in both streaming and local gameplay.
