Is this the first ‘real’ look at the iPhone 16?
As we get closer to September, more and more leaks have started to surface about the iPhone 16. Lakhwinder Singh on X posted, apparently sharing four images of the iPhone 16, assumedly from promotional material in China.
The first picture shows the two cameras at the back in vertical alignment, a design change from the iPhone 15 and its variants. Other than that, there were some specifications, such as its 6.1” screen size, USB-C port, A18 Bionic chip, and a 48-megapixel camera. Speaking of, there is some reference to the Apple Vision Pro in relation to the camera, which does hint at some kind of compatibility between the two optical devices. In addition, it had a price tag of RMB 5,999.
Another picture showcased the iPhone 16 Pro, which seemingly sports the triple camera we've grown accustomed to in the iPhone 15. At the end of the day, these are leaks, and we recommend taking them with a pinch of salt. The next Apple event should be scheduled for September and we should get a confirmation for that any day now.
When will it launch?
In a follow-up post, Lakhwinder suggests that the iPhone 16 is “expected to be officially released on September 10”, noting that pre-sales will go live on the 13th, followed up by full availability on the 20th. Again, we should clarify that these details are still rumored for the time being.
