We now have plenty of material in the rumor mill to suggest that the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D release date is in just a few weeks. Yet another online rumor reinforces the idea that it is coming almost in tandem with rival Intel’s new Arrow Lake line-up – which is now officially revealed to be the Core Ultra 200S series.

AMD has yet to reveal any official details about its upcoming 9000X3D CPUs, but we can certainly say that these chips are some of the most highly anticipated in recent times. At the very least, we’ve been waiting for X3D since the Zen 5 processors launched to lukewarm reviews.

9800X3D slated for late October launch – availability in early November

Similar to what we reported last week, we once again see a rumor that the 9800X3D is coming as soon as next month (with a launch late this month). According to a thread on the Chiphell forum, the 9800X3D will be launched on October 25th, and you’ll be able to buy it in “the first week of November”. Again, there’s no official confirmation from AMD. This is just speculation for now, but it seems promising.

Arrow Lake is now officially launched and is set to be on sale from October 24th. While we may have until around the 7th of November for the 9800X3D, the new Intel generation looks to have some tough competition right off the bat. Here’s what the schedule looks like right now:

  • Arrow Lake (Intel Core Ultra 200S series): October 24th
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D launch/announcement: October 25th (rumored)
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D availability: November 7th (rumored)

9800X3D “will not be cheap”

Pricing details for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D are a little more elusive. The leak suggests that “it will not be cheap” and that the price itself is yet to be determined. This 8-core, 16-thread processor will be the first of the X3D models to launch from the new 9000 series, with the likes of the flagship 9950X3D rumored for early next year – potentially around CES 2025.

We already know that it is set to feature improved clock speed, but we don’t expect it to stray too far away from the $449 price tag that both the 7800X3D and 5800X3D held at launch.
