iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Duo dimensions & weight explained
Apple recently revealed the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo. While all three sit at the premium end of Apple’s new lineup, there are some major differences when it comes to their dimensions and weight.
The iPhone 18 Pro remains the smallest and lightest of the three, while the Pro Max has become noticeably heavier despite keeping almost the same dimensions as its predecessor. The iPhone Duo, on the other hand, is extremely thin when opened but much thicker when folded – as you’d probably expect.

For starters, iPhone 18 Pro measures 150mm tall, 71.9mm wide, and 8.75mm thick, while its weight comes in at 211g. For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro measured 150 x 71.9 x 8.8mm and weighed 206g.

This means Apple hasn’t really changed the overall size of the phone. In fact, the new model is technically slightly thinner, although a difference of 0.05mm is unlikely to be noticeable during everyday use. The bigger change is weight, as the iPhone 18 Pro is now 5g heavier.
The difference is much larger with the iPhone 18 Pro Max. It measures 163.4mm tall, 78mm wide, and 8.75mm thick, keeping essentially the same dimensions as the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, its weight has jumped from 233g to 249g, an increase of 16g. That also makes the iPhone 18 Pro Max the heaviest non-folding iPhone Apple has released so far. It even passes the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which weighed 240g.
The iPhone Duo has very different dimensions because of its foldable design. When fully opened, it measures 164.6mm wide, 117.8mm tall, and only 5.2mm thick. That 5.2mm depth makes each side significantly thinner than the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
Of course, folding the device changes things considerably. When closed, the iPhone Duo measures 84.1mm wide, 117.8mm tall, and 11.3mm thick. It is therefore much shorter than the Pro models, but also wider and thicker than a traditional iPhone when folded.
Weight is another area where the Duo stands out. At 254g, it is 5g heavier than the already-heavy iPhone 18 Pro Max, making it the heaviest iPhone Apple has released to date.
