Path of Exile 2 isn’t a very demanding game, with recommended requirements listing an RTX 2060, Intel Arc A770, or RX 5600 XT. Unlike first-person shooters like Black Ops 6, you don’t need extremely high FPS to enjoy it. In fact, hitting 60 FPS is enough for the best POE 2 experience. However, to achieve this FPS without compromising visual quality, you’ll need to select the right settings.

I’ll walk you through the best Path of Exile 2 PC settings that I have used to get over 100 FPS at 1440p without ruining the visual quality.

What are the best Path of Exile 2 PC settings for max FPS?

Before diving into the settings, let me share the rig I’m using. I’m playing Path of Exile 2 on an RTX 3080 paired with a Ryzen 5 5600X processor, along with 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Using the settings listed below, I achieved over 100 FPS at 1440p. There were no noticeable FPS drops, and the overall experience was smooth.

In most cases, the FPS stayed between 130 to 150 at 1440p. If you switch the resolution to 1080p, you can expect to get 20 to 40 more frames. On the other hand, at 4K, the FPS will take a hit, but you can still expect it to be well over 60.

In any case, here are the best Path of Exile 2 PC settings that can help you achieve high FPS without ruining the visual quality. Keep in mind that if you have a card older than the RTX 3080, you may need to bring some settings down to medium to achieve high FPS, like Shadow + GI quality, Sun Shadow Quality, Texture Quality, Number of Lights, and Water Detail.

Tips for improving performance in Path of Exile 2

The correct settings will help you get the best performance in Path of Exile 2. However, there are some additional methods that can help further improve it.

  • Close background applications: Make sure you aren’t running other resource-intensive applications while playing Path of Exile 2. This will cause the system to divide the resources among multiple applications, preventing POE 2 from getting what it needs to operate smoothly.
  • Update your GPU drivers: Intel, AMD, and Nvidia released new game-ready drivers prior to Path of Exile 2’s release to make their cards compatible with the new entry, so make sure you’ve updated yours to the latest version.
