If you want to determine whether your PC build can play V Rising, then we have you covered right here.

After being in early access for almost two years, V Rising has been finally released. The vampire-themed open-world survival game is available on Steam, and you can get it for yourself right away. However, before you get the game, you need to make sure whether your PC clears the requirements.

In this guide, we will be talking about the minimum requirements – a baseline of what you need to have for the game to be operational and recommended system requirements for a richer, smoother gaming experience. With these requirements, you can determine whether your rig can play the game or need to invest in new components.

V Rising minimum system requirements

PC ComponentSpecification
OSWindows 10 64-bit
CPUIntel Core i5-6600 (3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (3.5 GHz)
GPUNVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (Maxwell or newer) (2 GB) or AMD Radeon R7 360 (2 GB)
Storage7GB available space
DirectXVersion 11

To start with, we’ll be looking at the minimum system requirements for V Rising, which, just like the term suggests, are the bare minimum must-haves to run the game.

The game needs your build to have an Intel Core i5-6600 or an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X, which were released in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Upon release, both were considered mid-range options.

As far as GPUs are concerned, you will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (Maxwell or newer) or an AMD Radeon R7 360. Both GPUs need to have at least 2GB VRAM. Of course, you can always upgrade the GPUs for better performance. You can have a quick look at some of the best GPUs for gaming to get an idea.

Now, coming to RAM, the minimum requirement is 12GB RAM. Most video games demand at least 8GB of RAM to run smoothly. However, more RAM usually means better performance, so if you’re considering upping your RAM, check out our guide on best RAM for gaming.

Judging from the minimum system requirements, you should be able to run the game with a build that is 7 to 8 years old. Plus, the components – mid-range CPUs and entry-level, budget GPUs – make it quite accessible. However, note that you will at least need 12GB RAM for it.

PC ComponentSpecification
OSWindows 10 64-bit
CPUIntel Core i5-11600K (3.9 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (3.7 GHz)
GPUNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 590 (8 GB)
Storage7GB available space
DirectXVersion 11

If you want a smoother experience, then you need to check out the recommended requirements for V Rising.

Now, one of the recommended CPUs are Intel Core i5-11600K (3.9 GHz), which came out in 2021 and is considered a mid-range processor. And as it is a “K” processor, it can be overclocked. If you’re on Team Red, then the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (3.7 GHz) is the recommended CPU. This CPU was released in 2020, and it is comparable to the Intel processor we just saw.

Coming to the graphics card, you will get a better experience with V Rising with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB VRAM) or an AMD Radeon RX 590 (8 GB VRAM). Again, this is a big leap from the older entry-level graphics card that we saw in minimum system requirements. But still, it is not as demanding as some of the modern AAA games.

Now, the recommended RAM is 12GB, which is the same as the minimum required RAM. Further, the required available storage space is 7GB, but we’d suggest having at least 1GB of additional room.

Compared to the minimum system requirements, the recommended requirements seem like a leap. However, the game does not demand the latest or too advanced components – so most PCs would be able to clear the requirements.

How much RAM does V Rising use?

As per the official V Rising system requirements, you will need at least 12GB RAM to run the game.

Is V Rising a finished game?

Yes, after being in the early access stage since 2022, V Rising was released on May 8th, 2024. The game is available for download on Steam.

Should I get a new GPU for V Rising?

According to the official system requirements, you can get by with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti or AMD Radeon R7 360. For a better experience, V Rising recommends NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 590. However, if you want a smooth gaming experience at high settings, then you’ll need to invest in newer GPUs like NVIDIA RTX 30-series or 40-series.

To sum up, you can run V Rising if you have an Intel Core i5-6600 or an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X and pair it with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (Maxwell or newer) or an AMD Radeon R7 360 graphics card. These are the bare minimum essentials that you need for V Rising. For a better gaming experience, you can go for the recommended system requirements or invest in some of the latest hardware components.
