Nintendo Switch 2 pre order details
Pre-orders for the Switch 2 went live as early as April 8th in the UK, with Nintendo offering a console-only model and a bundle with the newly announced Mario Kart World. In the US, pre-orders were set to start on April 9th, but this was delayed as Nintendo had to “assess the potential impact of tariffs“. The good news is that a new date has been announced, with an official statement revealing that US and Canada pre-orders start on April 24th.
As you may expect, you can pre-order the Switch 2 directly from the Nintendo website, but it isn’t the only place you’ll find it. Based on the Nintendo UK website, pre-ordering directly from Nintendo means you’ll need to have had a Switch Online membership for at least two years, continuously. There is also some playtime criteria, as stated below.

What Nintendo Switch 2 pre order bundles are available?
If you’re looking to get the Nintendo Switch 2 on launch day, there’s a decent chance you’ll also want a new game to go along with it. There are several launch titles for the console, including Mario Kart World and Switch 2 Editions of The Legend of Zelda’s Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom entries.
However, only one game is currently bundled with the Switch 2 for pre-order – Mario Kart World. There are also other Nintendo-developed titles such as the Switch 2 Welcome Tour (yes, you actually have to pay for this) and upcoming Metroid Prime 4, though the exact release date for the latter remains unknown.
