This brilliant Alienware 34-inch curved gaming monitor has dropped to its lowest price of the year on Amazon, and is going for a surprisingly affordable $289.99; not bad at all considering that Alienware products tend to have a premium price tag.

It’s a deal that gets you something higher-end than your typical mid-range 34-inch option, especially when it comes to design and build quality, but without having to pay too much more of a premium. With a 1500R, WQHD display, a 180Hz refresh rate, and FreeSync Premium, this monitor ticks a lot of boxes without completely breaking the bank.

What we like about this Alienware 34-inch curved gaming monitor

Stylish and practical design

Alienware gaming monitors are some of the best-looking displays on the market, but they’re also designed ingeniously designed with performance and functionality in mind. This monitor has a small footbase to preserve your desk space, 360-degree ventilation for excellent cooling, and its adjustable stand also features a simple cable management system, too.

34-inch ultrawide and 1500R curve is a well-balanced offering

At this size, you’re getting a wider field of view and extra space to work with, but without it being so wide that it becomes too expensive or simply too massive to fit in your setup. On top of that, its 1500R curve is a good sweet spot that adds some immersion, but without being too steep, that’s inpractical for other usages.

FreeSync Premium is a win for competitive gamers

With FreeSync Premium, you’ve got the anti-screen-tearing properties of the base-level FreeSync, but with added low-framerate compensation, which kicks in if framerates dip below the monitor’s bottom refresh rate. That’s great if you’re gaming competitively and need everything running at its smoothest.

Its resolution is ideal for the size

At 34 inches, WQHD resolution looks super crisp and clear, all without having to shell out for a higher resolution monitor or one of the very top-end graphics cards.

High, but not overkill, refresh rate

This monitor has a 180Hz refresh rate, which helps keep costs on the lower end and ensures that it’s not overkill for most mid-range gaming PCs, too. At 180Hz, you’ll be able to play at up to 180fps in WQHD, and with a 1ms response time, you won’t be running into much motion blur or ghosting either.

Is it a good time to buy?

In my experience, Alienware products do see fairly frequent discounts; however, they’re not usually that significant in most cases. What I’m always looking out for is when they drop to some sort of record low, and that’s something I’ve been seeing a lot of this week with Alienware in particular.

I’d say that now is a good time to buy this monitor as it’s at its lowest price of the year, and I’d even go so far as to say that it’s a good time to buy Alienware products in general, based on what I’ve seen recently.
