This brilliant LG 27-inch UltraGear gaming monitor has crashed to its best price ever on Amazon, with a hefty 33% off its list price. It’s now down to just $199.99, which is a seriously good price considering what you’re getting.

This gaming monitor is FHD, 240Hz, which makes it ideal for a very wide range of gaming PCs and especially good for competitive gaming, without breaking the bank. The big win here is getting something that looks ultra-sleek and premium, but for way less than you’d expect.

It’s the kind of monitor that wouldn’t look out of place in a more professional or minimal setup, but still packs a punch when it comes to gaming performance. At its current price, it’s great value and well worth checking out while it’s still on sale.

What we like about this LG 27-inch UltraGear gaming monitor

Speedy refresh rate and low motion blur

You’ve got a 240Hz refresh rate here, which lets you game at up to 240 fps. On top of that, its response time is a low 1ms, which means pixels can change color incredibly fast, and that motion blur and ghosting are kept incredibly low.

A good size for FHD resolution

With lower resolutions like this, smaller is always better, but a 24-inch monitor can be too small for some people. 27 inches is a very good size that maintains high pixel density and provides enough room for better immersion without being so large that it’s not optimal for competitive gaming.

FreeSync Premium and G-Sync are a winner for competitive gaming

While G-Sync and FreeSync are pretty much standard with gaming monitors, FreeSync Premium is a bit of a level up, as it provides low-framerate compensation on top of its anti-screen-tearing properties. Essentially, if framerates dip too low, it’ll help smooth out on-screen motion, which is a game-changer when gaming competitively.

Solid color and HDR performance for the price

With more budget-friendly, FHD monitors, HDR isn’t always the focus, but this display does have a decent, base-level offering with HDR 10 and 99% sRGB color, which should make games and content look vibrant, with relatively deep contrast and good peak brightness. Not bad at all for the price.

Dynamic Action Sync and Black Stabilizer features give you an edge

One helps reduce input lag, while the other reveals details in darker areas of the screen in-game, which means you can spot opponents more easily. It’s a fairly common feature, but one that’s actually a bit of a win if you’re primarily playing games like reflex-based first-person shooters.

Super-sleek design

For a more affordable monitor, this is one of LG’s finest from an aesthetic perspective, thanks to its super slim footbase, minimal and adjustable stand, and surprisingly slim bezels. It’s the kind of monitor that doesn’t scream ‘gaming’, which is a good thing if you’re looking for something with a less aggressive gaming look for your setup.

Should you get this deal?

This is a great monitor, and a very sleek, high-performance addition to a more cost-effective FHD gaming setup. The only thing to consider is if you want better HDR performance, which would matter most if you’re planning on using it for either HDR gaming (which you’ll need a more powerful PC for in most cases) or creative work.

For something more versatile, I’d recommend looking at monitors with a DisplayHDR 400 rating as a minimum, many of which can be found discounted and are generally well under $400. Check out our top gaming monitor deals below to see what’s out there.
