This Philips Evnia gaming monitor is back down to its best price ever on Amazon, with a solid 14% discount dropping it from $639.99 o $549.99. That’s a very good price for a QHD, 360Hz, QD-OLED gaming monitor, especially one that has a DisplayHDR True Black 400 rating; a very good sign that this display delivers the goods with contrast, peak brightness, and color. This monitor also stands out from the crowd when it comes to design and has unique features, such as built-in Ambiglow lighting, which can be synced to what’s happening on screen for a more atmospheric experience.

Philips Evnia 27M2N8500 QD OLED Gaming Monitor

QHD 2560 x 1440, 360Hz, 0.03ms Response time, Ambiglow, USB Hub, Height Adjustable, 4-Year Advance Replacement, Xbox PS5 Switch Compatible

This monitor is going to be best paired with higher-end QHD gaming builds, but it’s ideal if you’re looking for something with a very high refresh rate with excellent picture quality, for the price of your typical QD-OLED, 240Hz option. Thanks to its high DCI-P3 color coverage and color accuracy, it’s also a good option for video editors and content creators, too.

What we like about this Philips Evnia QD-OLED gaming monitor

QD-OLED Display with DisplayHDR True Black 400 for stunning picture quality

You’ve got an excellent QD-OLED display here, which can produce incredibly deep blacks, broad and accurate color, and bright highlights for much more lifelike picture quality. You’ve got an impressive 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, 1000 nits peak brightness, and 98.5% DCI-P3 color coverage here, which has earned it its DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification; something not every QD-OLED monitor has.

360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time for super-fast and smooth gaming

This monitor features a very high refresh rate, and one of the highest you can get with a 1440p display. At 360Hz, it’s designed to allow for up to 360fps gaming, which is great if you’re playing competitively or just enjoy playing at higher framerates. It has a 0.03ms response time, which is very low, and basically means that you won’t be running into much in the way of ghosting and motion blur. Again, that’s great for competitive play, as it helps you track opponents’ movements on screen more easily.

FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync compatible for top-tier HDR gaming performance

Both are great for reducing screen tearing and ensuring super smooth gameplay, but FreeSync Premium Pro, in particular, is a big win for HDR gaming. It essentially reduces lag that can be caused when gaming in HDR, which makes everything far more fluid. On top of that, it has low-framerate compensation as part of the FreeSync Premium offering, which is great when framerates dip below the monitor’s minimum refresh rate.

Stylish Ambiglow lighting

This is basically Philip’s version of aRGB, and it’s built into the back of the monitor. These lights can sync with what’s happening on-screen, for a super immersive atmosphere. It also features color breathing, color wave, and static color functions.

Things to consider and potential alternatives

At its current price, this is a great way to go if you’re looking for something with 360Hz, QHD resolution, and QD-OLED. From my experience, you tend to mostly find 240Hz, QHD, QD-OLED options for the same price. If you’re looking for alternatives, I’d say MSI is going to be your best bet from a price-to-performance perspective, as its QD-OLEDs are very impressive and also offer extremely advanced burn-in protection technology, too. This MSI gaming monitor is worth a look, but it is 240Hz and more expensive. For something a bit more high-end, I’d recommend checking out ASUS ROG options, as they tick all the boxes with stunning design, excellent build quality, and top-end performance. This ASUS ROG monitor would be my pick and is currently under $720 on Amazon.
