Buying an RTX 5080 isn’t possible without a large budget. But that doesn’t mean you can’t look for the best price available. Although component prices have shot up in the first half of 2026, there are some glimmers of hope in recent discounts that costs can deflate a little. One example is the Asus SFF-Ready Prime GeForce RTX 5080 OC Edition. It’s been as high as $1,500 this year, but has continued to fall since April. Right now, it’s at its lowest since January: $1,370. That’s lower than during Prime Day.

Why we like the Prime GeForce RTX 5080 OC Edition

Best GPU for gaming

To our minds, the RTX 5080 is the best graphics card for gaming. While the RTX 5090 is the king of performance, its huge price and niche use case make it irrelevant for many gamers. The RTX 5080 is a true 4K gaming beast, and so the go-to card if you want fast frame rates and ultra-HD resolutions.

SFF-ready

This Asus Prime RTX 5080 OC is SFF-ready. So if you want a small form-factor build with a ton of gaming power, it’s a smart pick. It’s not just Asus saying it either: Amazon’s user reviews confirm this as a top SFF option, with one owner saying, “It runs surprisingly cool and quiet, which is impressive for an SFF-ready card.” Asus’ Axial-tech fans and Vapor Chamber clearly work for cooling with limited noise.

Blackwell architecture

As a card using Nvidia’s latest Blackwell architecture, the RTX 5080 has access to the latest Nvidia features. That includes DLSS, and MFG (Multi-Frame Generation). And with 16GB of speedy GDDR7 VRAM onboard, this card is primed (sorry) for gaming, content creation, encoding, streaming, and most any workload.

What to consider before you buy

The outlook isn’t the brightest for graphics card prices – or for any components right now. But this Amazon price drop offers better value for a graphics card that promises excellent 4K gaming. And if you want an SFF-friendly option, then this card could be ideal. If you’re not concerned with space, and your budget is key, you’ll save a few hundred dollars with the RTX 5070 Ti if 4K is a luxury. Just ensure you get a card capable of meeting your needs.
