Beastly HP OMEN Max RTX 5080, Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 gaming laptop spotted with hefty $400 discount on Amazon
Table of Contents
If you’re looking for a seriously powerful gaming laptop for 1440p/1600p gaming on the go, then this HP Omen Max 16″ machine is well worth checking out right now. It’s currently at its lowest price in 30 days on Amazon, through third-party seller PCOnline US, which have had over ten years on Amazon and has fulfilled over 100,000 orders in the last year alone. The laptop in question is coming in at $3,099.00, which, yes, is super expensive, but this is an absolute unit when it comes to performance, as you’ll see.
In short, it packs an RTX 5080 mobile GPU with 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM, a powerful Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 processor, 32GB of DDR5, a 2TB SSD, a WQXGA display with a 240Hz refresh rate, and boasts an eye-catching, premium aesthetic with an RGB light bar and backlit keyboard, and it has an advanced and robust cooling architecture, too.
This is the type of laptop that leans more towards 1600p gaming on the go rather than, say, professional creative usage. That’s mainly due to the fact that it has a slightly lower core-count CPU and a more basic IPS display, instead of an OLED screen and one of your high-core-count Intel processors, for instance. That being said, overall, it’s a quality laptop to go for if gaming performance is high up on your list; it’s easy to travel with and also makes for a powerful and stylish addition to a home setup, too. Read on for a closer look at this laptop’s key components and for more of our top gaming laptop deals.

Standout features of this HP Omen Max gaming laptop
RTX 5080 mobile
This graphics card is a bit of a powerhouse, hitting the sweet spot for 1440p and 1600p, but also being very capable for 4K, too. It can handle ray tracing well, especially with its newer 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and boasts punchy creator workstation capabilities, where applications like Blender and Premiere Pro can benefit from powerful GPU and AI acceleration.
Ryzen AI 9 HX 375
A high-performance CPU with 12 cores, 24 threads, a 5.1 GHz boost clock speed, and 24MB L3 cache. What you’ve essentially got here is a processor that has excellent multitasking capabilities and will be adept at delivering smooth gaming performance, especially at 1440p, 1600p, and 4K.
16-inch IPS display
One area where it pulls back on, as it’s IPS and not OLED. Still, it features decent 100% sRGB color, a 240Hz refresh rate, and 1600p (or QHD+) resolution, all of which make it brilliant for gaming. It’s also 500 nits, which is bright enough to be clearly visible in daylight conditions, too.
32GB of DDR5 and 2TB SSD
2TB gives you enough room for large modern AAA games, while 32GB of DDR5 RAM primes this laptop nicely for future releases and for handling more demanding titles at higher settings. It also gives you a lot more headroom if you decide to use this laptop for video editing and other complex creative tasks.
