Black Friday sales are kicking off at most major retailers now, but the big question is will this finally be the year we see some of the more popular VR headsets dip in price?

Unfortunately, from what I’m seeing, it’s slim pickings when it comes to the coveted Meta Quest 3S, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, and PSVR 2. I have managed to locate an HTC Vive Elite which is now down $100 on Amazon, and there are also a bunch of VR accessory deals that are compatible with most headsets – mostly charging docks and battery packs. These actually have some big discounts on them, but as usual the bigger discounts are for older models like the Meta Quest 2.

My recommendation for saving on VR headsets is to simply go renewed or for a bundle which can save you a small, but meaningful amount of money. For PSVR 2, I’d say that’s your best bet at this time for sure. I’ve included a few options below, alongside the best VR accessory deals I can find too.

Keep checking back in with us, as we’re on high-alert for any deals coming in. There could be a small chance we’ll see something on Black Friday itself, or maybe Cyber Monday – so we’ll stay cautiously optimistic for now.

Where to find the best VR Black Friday deals?

There is a multitude of various places where you can find VR Black Friday deals, the most prominent among them being Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, and Target. It all comes down to the specific VR headset a user is more inclined on purchasing. Even Meta’s own Oculus store is home to some hefty deals amid Black Friday.

Below is a list of the most popular retailer hosting deals this coming Black Friday:

  • Amazon: Great deals on Meta Quest, Oculus Quest, and other VR headsets
  • Best Buy: Early savings
  • GameStop: Affordable rates on refurbished systems
  • Walmart: Best place for discounted PSVR bundles

Is VR worth buying?

Virtual Reality headsets aren’t exactly widespread forms of gaming but do have some incredible experiences that most would simply write off. Look no further than Half-Life: Alyx, Valve’s treasured reintroduction to the series across the VR ecosystem.

If a VR headset is worth buying, it really comes down to your own preferences and the monetary expenditure: do you have enough time for VR games and enough cash to throw at it?

Especially in the context of discounted headsets, there really is no reason not to get into the advanced VR space. It will only improve over time and more games will be released on each system, so if the deal looks right enough to you, what’s stopping you from entering the next step in video gaming?
