This AOC gaming monitor is back at its best price again on Amazon, coming in at $299.99 with 14% off its list price. Now, for a monitor this good, that’s actually a very tempting price, especially if you’re looking for a much brighter alternative to your typical OLED. Here’s everything you need to know about this monitor.

First up, it’s a mini-LED IPS monitor with 1152 local dimming zones. That’s a very large number of dimming zones, by the way, and what it means is that this monitor essentially has serious control and precision over its brightness and contrast- much more than your typical LED monitor, for instance. In fact, this monitor is DisplayHDR 1000 certified, partly because it can hit up to 1200 nits peak brightness. While not to be confused with ‘typical’ brightness, it is still incredibly impressive, especially for the price.

On the gaming performance front, you’ve got a 320Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, with Adaptive Sync. In short, it’s what you’d want for competitive FPS gaming and esports, or simply for enjoying games with minimal motion blur and ghosting at high frame rates.

There are a few more bells and whistles that I’ll expand further on below, but I’d say that if you have something like an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 9070 XT build and want something pretty epic for high refresh rate gaming, but with outstanding contrast, brightness, and color, this is a great pick for the price.

More standout features of this AOC 27-inch mini-LED gaming monitor

27 inches and QHD

Arguably the perfect size-to-resolution ratio you can get, and one that preserves pixel density, without needing to shell out for 4K (or better yet, a 4K-ready graphics card!)

IPS display

Wide viewing angles are one the big benefits of an IPS over, say, a VA panel, which makes them great if you’re using them in a multi-monitor setup.

White-themed design

If you’re going for the white, clean, gaming aesthetic, then this is obviously going to look fantastic in your setup and will blend in seamlessly.

Glossy coating

Designed to further enhance perceived contrast and color vibrancy, these coatings are great if you’re looking to maximize overall picture quality.

Things to consider before buying

So, more premium monitors tend to have a few more quality-of-life features designed for those who may have gaming PC and laptop setups, or use their display for non-gaming tasks, like video editing, for example. If you want something more like that, I’d recommend keeping an eye out for monitors with KVM switches, PIP and PBP modes, and USB-C charging with at least 65W power delivery. Be prepared to pay more, but it may well be worth the investment if you’re using your monitor for more than just gaming. I’d highly suggest checking out TCL’s lineup if you’re still shortlisting, and be sure to take a look at our top deals below to see what’s currently on sale.
