This outstanding Alienware 16 Aurora gaming laptop is now £200 off at Amazon in the Spring Deal Days sales, and has been reduced from £1,049.00 to £949.00, which also appears to put it back at its lowest price ever, according to price-tracking data. This laptop is amazing for under £1,000, and not only features Alienware’s signature premium design and build quality, but also packs one of the best value 50-series graphics cards, the RTX 5060 mobile, 16GB of DDR5, and an impressive, high core count, Intel Core i7 240H processor. Not only that, but it opts for a higher resolution WQXGA screen, instead of FHD+, which is often quite common at this price point. Key features of this Alienware 16 Aurora gaming laptop

RTX 5060 mobile graphics card

The RTX 5060 is one of the best graphics cards you can get in a laptop if you’re looking for something under £1,000. It features 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM and is built on NVIDIA’s new Blackwell architecture, which brings with it new and improved 4th-gen ray tracing cores and powerful 5th-gen tensor cores. This card is excellent for 1080p and 1440p gaming, especially when using Nvidia’s exclusive MFG upscaling. In terms of creative work, it’s not a bad option for moderately demanding tasks, like video editing, and with features like Nvidia 9th-gen encoders and Nvidia Broadcast, it’s a decent option for content creators who don’t want to completely break the bank.

Intel Core 7 240H processor

This laptop features an impressive Intel Core i7 240H processor, which is a very well-balanced option for gaming, productivity, and creative workflows. It features 10 cores (6P and 4E) and 16 threads, a 5.2Ghz boost clock speed, and 24MB cache. Its core and thread count make it very adept at multitasking, so if you’re looking for something that will handle video editing, rendering, streaming, and running background applications like Discord, then this is a good option to go for.

Display

The screen here is an impressive WQXGA display, which is 2560 x 1600 or QHD+. It’s basically QHD but with more vertical space, and it’s a good resolution to have on a smaller 16-inch screen like this one, as it looks super crisp and clear. For gaming, you’ve got a 120Hz refresh rate, which is high enough for fast-paced, competitive titles, and in terms of color, it has 100% sRGB, which basically means that colors pop off the screen and appear very vivid. Finally, it’s 300 nits, which is pretty standard, but still bright enough to be seen clearly in well-lit rooms and daylight.

Storage and RAM

This laptop features 16GB of DDR5, which is great to find at this price point, and is going to help improve overall responsiveness and smoothness of modern AAA games, creative editing applications, like Premiere Pro or Blender, and handling of multiple heavy applications at the same time. It also has a decent-sized 1TB SSD, which is big enough for. most people, and doesn’t have you paying for space you won’t use straight away, makingit a smart, budget-conscious move.

Things to consider

To be honest, I always recommend these Alienware laptops for anyone looking for an RTX 5060 model, as they really do tick all the boxes. For superior QHD/ QHD+ performance, an RTX 5070 model is going to be your best bet, but you’d likely end up spending around £1,400 to £1,500 in most cases. That being said, now would be an excellent time to find one for less, thanks to the Spring Sales. I’d also highly recommend some of the Lenovo Legion and HP OMEN laptops, too, both of which are similar (ish) in design to this Alienware option, and often see some pretty eye-catching discounts, too.
