What we like about this Stormcradft Phantom RTX 5080 gaming PC

Prime Day may have ended, but that hasn't stopped major retailers slashing prices on popular tech hardware. Below, we've listed some of the best deals available today.

Prices correct as of October 9th, 2026.

Very strong hybrid CPU for gaming, productivity, and creative work

This processor packs 20 cores, 20 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.3GHz, and 30MB L3 cache. It’s less punchy than the newer 7 270K Plus, but it’s also more affordable and still delivers the goods across the board. What’s more, it’s on the newer LGA 1851 socket, ensuring that this build is far more future-facing than an Intel 14th-gen alternative.

Powerhouse GPU for 4K and much more

With 16GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM, improved 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores for AI acceleration in both gaming and across workflows, the RTX 5080 does it all, for significantly less than an RTX 5090. It’s a very strong pick for working in applications like Blender, DaVinci Resolve, and Premiere Pro, and with 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders, export times are cut down, too.

A very good amount of RAM for hybrid usage

Ideal for handling demanding AAA games and future releases, but also brilliant for heavy multitasking and very demanding creative workflows.

Loads of storage

2TB is going to give you enough storage for large AAA games, which can easily tip the scales at over 100GB. On top of that, it gives you plenty of headroom if you’re saving video files and creative projects to it, alongside your gaming library, whereas a smaller 1TB SSD would likely fill up too quickly.

850W 80+ Gold PSU and robust cooling

It’s an appropriate PSU for the configuration and well rated for efficiency, too. And its 360mm AIO and 7-fan cooling architecture are excellent, especially when combined with its roomier PC case, which will assist with keeping ambient temperatures down.

Things to consider before buying

This PC is one of the less expensive RTX 5080 options out there, but there is a slight caveat when it comes to gaming performance. If you want something for very high-framerate gaming across the board, then a Ryzen 7 9800X3D is going to be your best bet.

It has over triple the size L3 cache, which makes it a very strong pick for competitive gaming in QHD and FHD in particular. These are often going for around $2,900 in most cases, so be sure to check out our top gaming PC deals below to see what’s out there if you’re still shortlisting.
