Key features of this MSI MAG 274QP gaming monitor
QD-OLED panel
This monitor has a QD-OLED panel, which combines Quantum Dot and OLED technology for increased color vibrancy, improved brightness, and exceptional contrast. It’s VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified, and boasts 99% DCI-P3 color, Delta E<2 color accuracy, a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, and 1370.4 nit peak brightness, which come together to give you incredibly lifelike picture quality and something that can easily be used for professional creative work, like photo and video editing.
240Hz, 0.03ms response time with FreeSync Premium Pro
You’ve got a very high refresh rate here that’s going to allow for up to 240fps, and low response time that will dramatically reduce motion blur and ghosting, allowing you to easily track what’s happening on-screen. On top of that, it features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which is there to significantly improve HDR performance, keep everything running smoothly when framerates drop too low (with LFC), and eliminate screen tearing and stutter.

MSI OLED Care 2.0
This monitor features MSI’s top-tier anti-burn-in technology, which can essentially detect potential burn-in threats and make adjustments on the fly to prevent damage. For example, it can identify static images and reduce brightness in those areas, which is essential when playing games with HUDs, logos, or crosshairs constantly on-screen for long durations. It also features a high-end custom heatsink to dissipate heat from the monitor itself, reducing excess heat build-up.
QHD and 27 inches
The sweet spot for gaming and one of the best resolution-to-size ratios you can get for picture quality, without paying extra for 4K. It’s small enough that it doesn’t put you at a competitive disadvantage when playing first-person shooters, but also large enough to be used for design, content creation, and everyday activities, like watching films and streaming.
Things to consider
For the price, this is a fantastic monitor, but it’s always worth considering non-OLED options if you’re going to use your display in very well-lit rooms. I’d personally lean towards mini-LED monitors, if that sounds like you, as these have higher overall brightness, and still boast incredible color. The only slight downside is that their blacks aren’t as deep, so you’re getting less contrast, and you may encounter a bit more haloing, too. That said, for daytime usage they’re super visable and are often quite affordable, too, relative to QD-OLED models.
