A 32-inch curved gaming monitor is ideal if you want a larger, more immersive gaming screen than a regular 27-inch. And if you can get one at an all-time low price, even better. On that note, I recently spotted Samsung’s 32-inch Odyssey (G55C) at its record-lowest price at Amazon. To my surprise, it’s maintained the discount. Still available for $238, a $91 saving, this 165Hz monitor has a lot to like for that price.

Why we like the Samsung 32-inch Odyssey (G55C)

1440p at 165Hz

For best performance, resolution needs frame rates – take it from someone who owns a 4K@60Hz monitor. The G55C is designed for 2K gaming. And with its fast 65Hz refresh rate, it caters to mid-range gamers striving for enjoyable, speedy visuals. Its snappy 1ms response time represents quick responsiveness for those balancing performance and pace.

1000R curved

Curved gaming monitors like the G55C are designed to offer an immersive experience by engaging your peripheral vision. The 1000R curve of this 32-inch monitor should closely mimic a natural visual experience. So it can boost enjoyment if you’re looking to maximize your immersion.

Eye-friendly features

The G55C supports AMD FreeSync, boosting smooth frame rates and reducing tearing and artefacts. But this monitor also includes an Eye Saver mode to minimize blue light. And it incorporates screen flicker reduction to limit effects on users’ eyes.

What to consider before you buy

Given the record-low price available, the Samsung Odyssey G55C offers a good mix of speed, performance, and eye-friendly features. Keep in mind that if you’re looking for your first curved gaming monitor, the 1000R here may be severe, and a 1500R curvature could be better. Overall though, there’s a lot to like about this screen, and though it isn’t among our best curved monitors, the discount gives this model a sizable boost in value.
