It seems that the goalposts are always shifting when it comes to finding a gaming PC for a competitive price; however, this discounted Stormcraft Phantom does bring a lot to the table for its $2,799.99 price tag. It’s an RTX 5070 Ti build paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB SSD. It also packs a beefy 360mm AIO, an 850W PSU, and is built on a B850 motherboard, which lines up nicely for future upgrades and, combined with its roomy PC case, provides ample thermal headroom for gaming and more intensive tasks, too. This is a gaming build first and foremost, and it’s a very powerful one at that. For QHD gaming in particular, this is going to be a beast, and it’s also a solid option if you’re occasionally playing titles in 4K, too. Here’s a closer look at its key components.

Key components of this Stormcraft Phantom gaming PC

RTX 5070 Ti graphics card

One of the best graphics cards for QHD gaming on the market, and a very strong choice for those who want something that brings more than just raw performance to the table. With improved AI and ray tracing capabilities, exclusive features like MFG, and 16GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM, this card makes a lot of sense for those who primarily play in 1440p but still want solid 4K performance, without the expense of an RTX 5080 build.

Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor

Again, another top component when it comes to gaming performance, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is one of the best gaming CPUs on the market, boasting a massive 96MB L3 cache and a fast 5.2 GHz boost clock speed. It’s designed for extremly low latency gaeplay at very high FPS, and in this build, it makes it a very good pick for those who enjoy gaming competitively. It has a relatively low core and thread count (8 and 16), which isn’t as much as, say, the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, but for flat-out gaming, this CPU is difficult to beat.

32GB of DDR5 and 2TB SSD

Having this much RAM from the get-go is a win, especially if you want something that’s going to be able to handle more asset-heavy titles, like open-world games and simulators. The same goes for the 2TB SSD, which provides ample room for a large gaming collection without having you constantly worry about monitoring storage.

850W PSU and 360mm AIO

Both are excellent for this build, with the 360mm AIO arguably being slightly overkill for the Ryzen 79800X3D, and perhaps a bit more appropriate for a high core count CPU intended for use on intensive creative workloads and multitasking. That being said, both components, alongside the B850 motherboard, make for a solid foundation to build on, without having to swap out everything the second you upgrade your CPU or GPU.
