What we like about this Thermaltake LCGS NE gaming PC
RTX 5080 is a strong pick for 4K gaming and GPU-accelerated creative workloads
With 16GB of faster, higher-speed GDDR7 VRAM and a hefty 10,752 CUDA cores, the RTX 5080 is primed to handle demanding AAA games in 4K at max settings and can even punch above its weight with exclusive features like MFG, too. It’s also a strong pick for creatives working in Premiere Pro, Blender, and DaVinci Resolve. Not only are processes much faster across the board, but dedicated features like 9th-Gen Nvidia encoders help cut down export times, while its 5th-gen tensor cores assist with AI acceleration.
Its CPU is great for gaming and productvity
The Intel Core 7 270K Plus packs 20 cores, 20 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.5GHz, and 36MB L3 cache. That’s a very different offering from your typical Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and it suits hybrid gaming and productivity usage arguably much better. For heavy multitasking and working in creative apps, where the CPU can do a lot of the heavy lifting, it’s a great CPU to go for., and a solid step-up from the 7-265K, too.
Plenty of RAM and storage
With 32GB of DDR5-6000 RAM and a 2TB SSD, you’ve got a very strong foundation or gaming and creative work, with plenty of room for modern AAA titles and other files.
Robust cooling architecture and powerful PSU
This build features a strong 360mm AIO liquid CPU cooler and powerful case fans to keep thermals in check, even under heavy and sustained loads. On top of that, its 1000W PSU provides plenty of headroom for the configuration and is 80+ Gold rated for efficiency.
WIFI 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are a welcome premium touch
It’s great to see WIFI 7 here, in particular, and it’s surprisingly uncommon, even with higher-end RTX 5080 gaming PC.
Things to consider
Of course, opting for a Ryzen 7 9800X3D is going to net you better gaming performance, as it’s specifically designed with this in mind. That being said, the trade-off is that it has a much lower core count and won’t be as well-suited to multitasking and creative workflows as many of the Intel Core Ultra alternatives.
From my experience, they’re also a touch more expensive, too, coming in at around $3,100 from what I’ve seen. However, we are seeing some interesting X3D gaming PC deals going right now, so be sure to check out what else is out there below.
