Deal @ Newegg

Read on for a breakdown of this PC so you know what each component brings to the table, but if you’re short on time, here’s what you need to know. This PC basically has a completely overpowered CPU for the RTX 5070 for gaming, with a much higher core count than your typical Ryzen X3D alternatives. What that does is unlock serious workstation and multitasking capabilities, alongside excellent gaming performance.

Now it does pull back a little by opting for DDR4 instead of faster DDR5. That makes it less expensive, and it’s not a complete deal-killer, but when combined with a CPU that’s at the end of its upgrade path, it makes this build less future-facing. Again, not really a deal-killer if you plan on sticking with this PC for years to come as-is.

What you need to know about this ABS Cyclone Aqua PC

Very strong graphics card for 1440p gaming

The RTX 5070 packs 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM and boasts Blackwell features and improvements like 4th-gen ray tracing cores, 5th-gen tensor cores, and MFG. For 1440p, it’s a winner. For creatives, it’s got more raw rendering power than the RTX 5060 Ti, but less VRAM than the 16GB variant. It’s an excellent option for video editors and content creators, in particular.

Extremely powerful CPU with very high core count

The Intel i9-14900KF is a beast of a CPU. It features 24 cores, 32 threads, a 6GHz boost clock speed, and 36MB L3 cache, making it a powerful pick for gaming at high frame rates with minimal latency and extremely heavy multitasking. It can run very hot, mind you, but this PC packs a pretty decent Gamdias Aura 240mm AIO cooler to keep performance stable.

A hefty amount of DDR4 RAM

With 32GB of DDR4, you can expect smooth gaming performance, headroom for more demanding AAA games and future releases, and better handling of creative workflows in applications like Premiere Pro and Blender.

1TB SSD is decent for most people

More is more, of course, but 1TB is a solid starting point that allows to spend your budget on performance, rather than storage you may or may not need. The motherboard in this build has multiple M.2 slots so you can easily upgrade in the future should you wish to.

How good is this deal?

I’d say that for the price, you’re getting a lot for your money here, but the biggest win is having an absolute unit of a CPU that’s designed to handle heavy creative workflows, as well as gaming. For a fair bit under $2,000, that’s not bad at all.

The only real caveat to this is that it’s not future-facing, but that’s reflected in the price, as it’s common to find Intel Core Ultra alternative RTX 5070 builds at $2000 and above. One thing I would say is that the ‘discount’ is a litt;e unbeliveable, in my opinion.

There’s no way that this build would cost as much as $2,499.99, as that’s what you’d pay for a typical RTX 5070 Ti PC. That being said, at its current price, it’s quite competitive for an RTX 5070 PC with a top-tier Intel 14th-gen CPU.
