This superb Stormcradt Phantom gaming PC is now $500 off at Newegg, and has been reduced from $2,599.99 to $2,099.99. For an RTX 5070 Ti prebuild, that’s a very good price, especially one that comes with 32GB of DDR5, a 2TB SSD, and one of Intel’s best processors from the 14th-gen series, the i7-14700F. This processor is a very good option for those who want a more balanced configuration, without completely breaking the bank. RTX 5070 Ti graphics card
If you’re looking for top-tier 1440p and solid 4K performance, but want to keep overall costs under $2,500, then the RTX 5070 Ti is one of the best graphics cards you can go for. The big thing here is its 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM, which puts it a cut above the, albeit excellent value, RX 9070 XT. It also has superior ray tracing capabilities, thanks to 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and a huge boost to AI performance via its new 5th-gen tensor cores. While it’s decent at 4K, like the RTX 5070, it thrives at 1440p, where it can handle demanding AAA games at ultra settings with ray tracing at high fps. For creatives, it’s an excellent choice, too, not only due to its ample VRAM but also its exclusive features like 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders for faster video exporting, better quality video, and more.
Intel Core i7-14700F processor
This is one of the best CPUs from the Intel 14th-gen lineup, offering very well-rounded performance across gaming, productivity, and multitasking. For gaming, you’ve got a high boost clock speed of 5.4GHz, paired with an ample-sized 33MB Intel Smart cache, designed to deliver high fps at 1440p and 4K, making it a good pairing with the RTX 5070 Ti’s capabilities. On top of that, it features 20 cores and 28 threads, making it a very good choice if you’re looking to stream, run background applications like Discord, or switch between demanding applications in various creative workflows. RAM and storage
You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 in this build, which is going to help run more demanding games and applications, plus make for a very responsive, snappy computing experience. There’s also a large 2TB SSD, which is more than enough for most people, and can easily hold around 15 large AAA games while still having enough room for other files.
Things to consider
This is a great PC, especially for the price, so the only real thing to consider is the CPU. In short, as it’s not a new LGA 1851 socket processor, to upgrade in the future to the Intel Core Ultra series, you’ll need a new motherboard. That’s a consideration, but for many, it’s hardly a deal killer, especially given the somewhat mixed response to Intel’s new lineup. If you want something that’s going to squeeze out as much gaming performance from the RTX 5070 Ti as possible, I’d say your best bet for the money would be a Ryzen 7 9800X3D build. These usually hover between $2000 and $2,500 in most cases, and will be able to push framerates higher, with low frame latency and improved 1% lows.
