Outstanding Alienware QD-OLED QHD gaming monitor tumbles under $500 to its lowest price in 30 days at Newegg
Table of Contents
I’ve come across a few Alienware monitor deals recently, which is great to see, as discounts can be somewhat rare from my experience, and often not particularly hefty either, truth be told. That being said, these are premium monitors, which boast exceptional build quality and performance, and also boast that signature futuristic aesthetic we’ve all come to associate with the brand. Over at Newegg, this Alienware 27-inch QHD OLED gaming monitor is at its best price in 30 days, coming in at $499.99 with, as expected, a fairly modest $50 discount. For under $500, this monitor brings a lot to the table, though, with notable features including a very high 280Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium Pro, a very impressive 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, 99.3% DCI-P3 color, and 1000 nits peak brightness.
Alienware 27 inch QHD OLED gaming monitor
This is the type of monitor that would be best paired with a high-end 1440p gaming PC, and it’s going to be well-suited to those who want something speedy for high refresh rate gaming, but also capable of showcasing more graphically demanding games at their best, too.
What we like about this Alienware 27-inch QHD OLED gaming monitor
QD-OLED display to showcase your games at their best
If you’re going for lifelike picture quality, opting for a QD-OLED display like this one is a great way to go. They’re essentially the top dogs when it comes to contrast and color, and also boast excellent peak brightness levels, for bright, realistic-looking highlights. For gaming, they’re excellent, especially when playing in HDR, and they’re very strong picks for content creators, too, with this one in particular boasting 99% DCI-P3 color coverage, for accurate, industry-standard editing.

Sweet spot resolution to size ratio
This monitor comes in at 27 inches and has QHD resolution, which is the best size to resolution ratio you can get, in my view, especially if you’re trying to keep costs a little lower. At this size, QHD looks crisp and clear, with the big advantage being that you don’t need to shell out on a 4K monitor or sink loads of cash into a much more expensive 4K-ready gaming rig. It’s also a versatile size, as it’s not too big to put you at a competitive disadvantage when playing first-person shooters, and not too small that it takes away from immersion.
280Hz refresh rate for high fps gaming and 0.03ms response time for low motion blur
This monitor features a very high refresh rate of 240Hz, which means you can game up to 280 fps at 1440p. That’s more than enough for most people for competitive gaming, and gives you plenty of headroom even with higher-end 11440p gaming PCs. It also has a very low response time of 0.03ms, which is going to dramatically reduce motion blur and ghosting, and ensure you can keep track of what’s happening on screen.
FeeeSync Premium Pro for top-tier HDR performance
This monitor features the S-tier of FreeSync, which, in short, brings in improved HDR gaming performance to the table. It does this by reducing lag that can occur when playing games in HDR, ultimately resulting in much smoother performance. On top of this, it also has low-framerate compensation, which is part of the FreeSync Premium offering.
Sleek and functional design
Alienware monitors and products in general are some of the best when it comes to stunning and practical design. This monitor both looks the part with its premium bild qualty nd finsihing, but also features some special elements that will be welcomed by gamers. You’ve got a smaller footprint, for example, which helps preserve desk space for other peripherals. You’ve also got built-in cable management for a clutter-free setup, and the monitor itself has various vents to help whisk away excess heat.
Things to consider
The only real thing to consider here is the environment you’re going to use this monitor in. In short, even some of the latest QD-OLED monitors aren’t super bright in a general sense. When it comes to peak brightness, they’re great, but this is often measured in much smaller areas on the screen, which can throw people off when they look at the specs. For well-lit rooms, mini-LED monitors tend to be better from a brightness perspective, but QD-OLED moniitor klie thos one are still the top dogs when it comes to epic contrast ratios and lifelike color. If you are after a brighter OLED monitor, I’d suggest checking out some models with a higher VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black rating. These will be premium models, so expect to pay a fair bit more, though. I’d recommend this one from Samsung, which fits what I just described, if you’re interested in an alternative.
