What’s to like about this combo deal?

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X

First off, the Ryzen 9 7900X is still seen as one of the best CPUs on the AM5 platform, and was only released late 2022. It boasts an impressive 12 cores, 24 threads, an L3 Cache of 64MB, and a boost clock speed of 5.6 GHz.

We gave it 4.5 stars in our review for a number of reasons. We were impressed with its strong multi-core performance, and how it was able to remain effecient throughout. We also loved the fact that it’s super future proof as it was the first generation on AM5. And importantly, we found it was able to support even some of the best graphics cards for gaming too.

As far as CPUs go, this is an excellent, and affordable option for both gaming and multi-tasking.

Gigabyte B650 motherboard

Now let’s take a look at the Gigabyte B650 motherboard, which is also impressive in its own right.

This of course is an AM5 compatible motherboard, meaning it essentially gives you access to the latest PCIe 5.0 connectivity, DDR5 RAM, and more recent AMD Ryzen CPU releases, should you wish to upgrade in the future.

What’s great about this motherboard are its quick release and screwless design features. These make installing components such as RAM or NVMe SSDs very straight-forward.

It’s also covered in various cooling solutions, such as a 6mm heatpipe, various heatsinks, and an M2 thermal guard. This is much needed, especially as the Ryzen 9 7900X can run hot. Every little helps!

On top of that you’ve also got WIFI 6E, and an overall support for LED, RGB LED strips, and more.
