Speedy 180Hz 2K gaming monitor is back to well under $200 at Amazon
Table of Contents
You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on a 1440p gaming monitor. And, if you’re moving from 1080p, we may have found the deal for your entry into 2K. The Samsung 27-inch Odyssey G5 (G51F) has a $250 list price but is currently well under $200, thanks to a returning Amazon deal. Right now, you can get it for $150, for a big $100 saving on a popular model that has plenty to like.
Why we like the Samsung 27-inch Odyssey G5 (G51F)
Ample refresh rate
This Odyssey G5 has a fast 180Hz refresh rate with 1ms response time. That means you can play at 1440p and get smooth viewing up to 180 frames per second. In triple-A titles, that’s fast, and you’d need a strong gaming setup to get those sorts of frames. So, unless you want to shift to 4K in the near future, this monitor could support your needs for a while.
Solid feature list
The benefit of getting a monitor from an established brand like Samsung is the quality and features you get. This is an HDR10 monitor supporting AMD FreeSync for tear-free viewing, and it has Auto Source Switch to automatically detect active sources – ideal if you have a PC/console combination.

Ergonomic design
The Odyssey G5 (G51F) has a smart 27-inch screen, but that doesn’t matter if it’s not properly adjusted for comfort. That’s why it’s great to see height, pivot, and tilt adjustments, which can allow you to find your optimal position.
What to consider before you buy
The real consideration with a monitor like this is that it has the refresh rate, features, and look you need to complete your gaming setup. For the deal price, we’d say this offers good quality at under $200 (which is great to see). However, it can be worth comparing with other monitors and prices to ensure you’re happy with this particular deal.
