We love seeing record-low prices, and so the 27-inch AOC Q27G3XMN is the latest monitor to make our day. Not only is it a 180Hz Mini-LED monitor we’d be happy to link to our gaming PC, but it’s back to its lowest price in its latest Amazon deal. Yes, the $300 monitor is down to a very pleasing $230 – which is very good news if you want a vivid and enjoyable 1440p screen for a nicer price.

Why we like the AOC 27-inch Q27G3XMN

Enjoyable 27-inch Mini-LED quality

On a 27-inch monitor, it’s very easy to notice underwhelming color, contrast, and performance. The Q27G3XMN isn’t a culprit here, though, as it offers 134% sRGB color, promising enjoyable scenes and viewability. And because it’s a Mini-LED, its 226 local dimming zones can make a substantial difference to brightness and contrast – both to your benefit.

A speedy QHD monitor

Any 1440p gaming monitor needs more than a little speed to depend on. The Q27G3XMN has a refresh rate of 180Hz (OC), via DisplayPort 1.4, so it can support up to 180 frames per second at 1440p. That’s fast enough for enjoyable speed in triple-A titles and should suffice for most mainstream gamers not looking for Esports-level performance. Its 1ms GtG response time is nicely snappy, too.

Aesthetically and ergonomically pleasing

We like the style of the AOC Q27G3XMN, especially its 3-sided frameless display, which makes it so the viewable screen nearly reaches the monitor edge. And in addition to its appealing looks, it’s ergonomically designed. Height adjustment is supported by pivot, swivel, and tilt adjustability, so you can more easily find a view that works for you.

What to consider before you buy

We like this monitor at its deal price because, even though it’s not a premium 1440p model, it offers good visual quality, speed, and obvious value. Plus, if you want a monitor that you can use for more than gaming – for, say, editing, creative work, or daily productivity – we believe the Q27G3XMN has the quality to support it. Doubtless it would need calibrating for more professional needs, but owner and user reviews speak well of this AOC monitor, and we’re sure we would have no issue using it for our own mixed gaming and non-gaming needs.
