Intel Core i7-14650HX processor is a beastly all-rounder for the price
This CPU packs a 30MB L3 cache, 5.2Ghz boost clock speed, 16 cores, and 24 threads, essentially making it a powerhouse that can handle anything you throw at it. For gaming, it complements the RTX 5070 mobile well, allowing for high framerates at its target resolutions, with low latency, and its hefty core count lends itself well to creative workloads, multitasking, and more.
It has an impressive IPS display with a high refresh rate
This display is 2560 × 1600 pixels, which looks notably crisp and clear on a 16-inch screen. For gaming, it has a 240Hz refresh rate with a low 3ms response time, both of which are ideal for high fps gaming with low motion blur. It’s also surprisingly bright, coming in at 500 nits, and baosts 100% sRGB color, which is great for making games look bright and vibrant.
32GB of DDR5 and a 1TB SSD complete the package
With this amount of RAM, you’re going to be getting better gaming performance, with less microstuttering, and much better handling of multitasking and demanding creative tasks, too. What’s also good to see is this laptop’s 1TB SSD, which is going to be more than enough to store a good handful of games, alongside other files. For the price, having this amount of RAM and storage in an RTX 5070 laptop is actually a pretty big win.
Who should buy this HP Ome RTX 5070 gaming laptop?
This is a great laptop to go for if you’re after something for AAA gaming on the go, with solid workstation and multitasking capabilities, too. For the price, it’s pretty tempting given the amount of RAM and storage it has, too. I’d say if you’re looking for an even better screen, which would be more suited for HDR content and professional creative work, an OLED alternative would be a good way to go.
