Table of Contents
This excellent Gigabyte 27-inch QHD gaming monitor is now a whopping $350 off at Newegg, and has been reduced from $999.99 to $649.99, with a further $50 off with promo code TRWF288 for a limited time, which would bring it down to $599.99. Now that is a seriously good price, given what this monitor brings to the table. It’s QD-OLED, so you’re getting incredible color, contrast, and solid peak brightness, as evidenced by its VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. It’s also QHD and 27 inches, which is the sweet spot for most people nowadays, and it’s 240Hz with FreeSync Premium Pro, with incredibly low motion blur, earning it an impressive VESA Certified ClearMR 13000 rating. This is the type of monitor that ticks practically every box, and for the price, is well worth considering for mid-to-upper range 1440p gaming PC setups.

Key features of this Gigabyte 27-inch 240Hz gaming monitor
QD-OLED display
This display is QD-OLED, which essentially combines Quantum Dot and OLED technology together for improved color and brightness to most older OLED monitors. This monitor has a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, which is a very good sign that it delivers the goods when it comes to brightness, color, and deep blacks. For color, it’s got 99% DCI-P3 coverage and Delta E<2 accuracy, which means you’re getting a super wide color range, but also something that’s incredibly lifelike, too. For brightness, to get this VESA DisplayHDR certification, it needs to be able to achieve at least 400 nits of peak brightness, so you can expect bright highlights in-game or when watching HDR content. And for contrast, it’s 1.5 million: 1, so expect very deep, near-zero blacks.
240Hz, 0.03ms response time, and more
This monitor is 240Hz, which means it can hit 240fps at QHD, which is great for fast-paced gaming, especially with its lower response time, which will ensure that on-screen movement remains super clear, without motion blur. It features FreeSync Premium Pro, which basically means that this monitor is able to make HDR content look super smooth and can compensate when framerates dip very low, alongside all the standard anti-screen-tearing capabilities the base-level of FreeSync offers. Interestingly, it’s also VESA Certified ClearMR 13000. This literally measures clear to blurry pixel ratios in monitors, and getting a ClearMR 13000 rating essentially means that motion blur, even at super high speeds, is incredibly low.

Exceptional thermals and burn-in protection
You’ve got a pretty epic suite of thermal solutions here, designed to stop this monitor from overheating and increase its lifespan. It features a graphene thermal film, four-sided ventilation, a customized heatsink, and a fanless design for silent operation. On top of the physical anti-burn-in features, you’ve got an advanced AI-based algorithm that can essentially detect potential risks and adjust brightness accordingly.
Things to consider
Personally, I think this monitor really does tick all the boxes, but if you’re spending this amount, you may as well check out some of the options from ASUS ROG and MSI while you’re looking around. I’d say that for a slightly more eye-catching, cyberpunk aesthetic, going for an ASUS ROG monitor is a great way to go. For something that’s more performance-first and a little more affordable in most cases than ASUS, I’d go with MSI. Recently, I’ve spotted a load of these monitors on sale, so now does look to be a good time to bag one, if you’re keen.
