If you spend a considerable amount of time sat at a desk then it’s important to invest in a chair with the correct ergonomic support – trust us here, it will be a lot cheaper in the long run than paying for all those physio appointments later in life! Additionally, a chair with a mesh construction is significantly more breathable, making lengthy sitting periods more comfortable, particularly if you're in a warmer environment. That being said, not everyone can afford a Herman Miller, or even if they can might not want to spend quite that much money on a single chair. Thankfully there are many other brands producing ergonomic mesh chairs for a fraction of the price, and Sihoo is one of them. The Doro C300 Pro is a nice mid-range option from the company, with extensive armrest adjustability alongside height and headrest adjustment options. Read below for everything there is to know about this fine piece of furniture.

Unboxing & Assembly

Upon opening the box the chair came in, we found all the individual parts well wrapped or otherwise packaged, with a good amount of padding to prevent damage in transit. We recommend getting a pair of scissors to help you take some of the wrapping off, though much of it can be done by hand.

Unlike some chairs out there the Sihoo Doro C300 Pro is delivered fully unassembled, including the individual spokes of the wheel base and the different sections of the arms. Thankfully though the included instruction booklet is nice and clearly laid out, and all the screws, washers and smaller components come in blister pack with each one labeled, enabling you to identify them. There's also a YouTube video (linked below) which is very helpful as a visual guide of how to put the chair together – we recommend using both this and the physical instruction booklet alongside each other.

The blister pack of screws also includes all the tools you'll need to complete this build, which is two different Allen keys / hex keys, so you won't need to find your own.

Starting from the base upward, we first added the silver spokes to the core of the wheel base (removing the protective plastic sleeves from inside them), screwed these in with the accompanying washers, attached the wheels by pushing them in by hand (this requires some force), we then added the hydraulic piston and sleeve before screwing together the seat itself and adding it on top of the wheelbase. We then constructed the arms, which requires the use of several screws and washers, added the backrest to the chair and then slotted and screwed in the completed arms onto this section. Finally, we popped on the cover with the Sihoo logo over the top of the screw fixture where the headrest is affixed.

Overall, putting the chair together took about an hour, though it may take you a bit longer if you're less familiar with chair construction.

Ergonomics & Adjustability

The Sihoo Doro C300 Pro is designed with a focus on ergonomic support and adjustability better allow the user to tweak it to fit their specific body type and seating environment. The main adjustable features are as follows:

  • Precision-Crafted 3D Headrest: This 3D mechanical headrest is adjustable in height (4.5cm of movement up/down), depth (6.5cm of movement back/forward), and angle, allowing precise support for the neck and head.
  • Domino Dynamic Lumbar Support: Equipped with a self-adaptive dynamic lumbar support system, the chair’s lumbar support moves fluidly with the user’s movements, aligning with the spine’s natural curve to provide continuous lower back support.
  • Backrest: The liftable and flexible backrest adapts to the user’s posture, offering comprehensive support from the head to the waist. The backrest can be adjusted in height from 46cm – 55cm (18.11-21.65 inches) to suit different body types.
  • 6D coordinated Armrest: The chair features armrests with ‘tilt linkage' that can be adjusted up and down, forward and backward, inward and outward, and can rotate inward and outward or flip upwards to provide optimal arm support.
  • Seat Depth: The ‘waterfall-inspired' seat cushion is adjustable in depth from 42.7cm – 45.11cm (16.81 to 17.76 inches), allowing users to find a comfortable position that reduces pressure on the thighs and hips from lengthy sitting sessions.
  • Tilt Mechanism: The chair offers a seat-back synchronized recline with three lockable angles at 105°, 120°, and 135°, enabling users to adjust the recline to their preferred position. The smart weight-sensing mechanism ensures balanced support during reclining.

Comfort

We found the Sihoo Doro C300 Pro to be a very enjoyable seating experience, particularly when working – giving the right balance between posture support and comfort to make those long days in the office that much more bearable.

The mesh material (more specifically the ‘high-elasticity wave mesh upholstery') that the majority of your body resets on has great airflow, preventing heat build-up, and a nice springiness to it, both of which help keep you alert whilst at your desk.

The seat cushion gives a nice even weight distribution, reducing pressure on your thighs and hips, and the combination of the lumbar support and flexible backrest work together to provide continuous support even if you're moving around, maintaining ergonomic alignment from the bottom of your spine to your neck.

Pricing, Availability & Warranty

Original pricing for the Doro C300 Pro was $699.99 in the US (with the white variant costing around $10 more), or around £708.79 in the UK, though prices in both regions have reduced since then.

Currently, on Sihoo'’s official website, you can pick the chair up on offer from $339.99, which is very nice indeed. Amazon also sells the chair in various global regions.

Even at this great price, if you're concerned about whether or not you'll be getting value for money, Sihoo offers a 30-day worry-free trial, meaning if it's not for you you can send it back within this time period (assuming it's in good condition). Additionally, you also get a very nice 3-year warranty for added assurance if you do have any issues with the chair. Not bad at all!
