Back at CES 2024, the Acer Predator Z57 was revealed. This ultrawide gaming monitor is another dual 4K display, giving users interested in this high-spec resolution an alternative to the 57″ Samsung Neo G9. Originally, the announced price tag of the Z57 was the very same as the Neo G9, leaving many questioning just what it brings. However, a steep 20% reduction now makes for a very competitive price.
This surprise price cut has been spotted on the official Acer store page and is a promising sign. It’s not even out yet, so this seems to tell us that Acer is looking to undercut the Neo G9, which launched back in 2023 and currently sits at $2,499.99 (at the time of writing).
Acer Predator Z57 drops price by 20% before it even comes out
As we’ve already said, this makes for a 20% reduction. Originally announced for $2,499.99, you will now be able to buy the Acer Predator Z57 for just $1,999.99. Obviously it’s still a high-ticket item, but this softens the blow. Now that Acer has officially listed it for this price, we can only assume that this mini-LED gaming monitor is soon on the way, especially given that the current release date window is set for Q2 2024 and we’re now making our way through it.

Our friends over at WePC compared the 57″ Samsung Neo G9 vs Acer Predator Z57 and you’ll find that both flagship monitors feature a similar list of specs. However, the Neo G9 has the edge due to double the refresh rate, marginally more local dimming zones, and DisplayPort 2.1 (which we recently saw included on a new 8K monitor). Plus the highest tier of AMD FreeSync. A couple of things the Z57 has going for it over the G9 is the inclusion of USB-C (90W PD) and a KVM switch.
Either way, both of these dual UHD monitors are fantastic for both immersive gaming and productivity. As such, the Z57 now is a great alternative if it can reliably stay cheaper than the Neo G9. Samsung’s offering has been out for a while though now, and we’ve seen it drop as low as $1,699.99 during sales events according to Amazon price tracker Camelcamelcamel.
