If you’re looking to upgrade your PC with an Intel 14th gen processor, then today might be the right time to do so. This flagship processor is one of the best CPUs on the market.

At the moment, the Intel Core i9-14900K processor, which is the high-end CPU from the lineup, is selling at a discounted price. You can get your hands on the flagship processor for just $445 instead of the regular price of $546.43. In fact, we ran a quick check on the price history and found out that this was the lowest price ever – lower than it was on Prime Day earlier this week.

Intel Core i9-14900K Processor

New Gaming Desktop Processor 24 (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores) with Integrated Graphics – Unlocked

Why you’ll love the Intel Core i9-14900K processor

Here’s why we think that this 14th gen CPU might be a good investment for you:

  • 24 cores (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores) and 32 threads: The i9-14900K comes with 24 cores and 32 threads, which should make it a multitasking powerhouse. With this, you can expect the processor to tackle demanding workloads like gaming and streaming effortlessly.
  • Max clock speed of up to 6.0 GHz: As this is a “K” processor, you can overclock it when you need more power. You can push this CPU to a max turbo frequency of up to 6.0 GHz, which should result in smoother gameplay, higher frame rates, and quicker rendering times.
  • Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770: You also get an integrated graphics card that provides decent graphics for everyday tasks, casual gaming, and content consumption. However, for gaming, we’d recommend getting a discrete GPU.
  • Works with Intel 600 and 700 series motherboards: The CPU is compatible with both generations of motherboard, which allows you to upgrade your CPU without necessarily needing a new motherboard. Although you may need a BIOS update for older motherboards.
  • DDR4 and DDR5 platform support: You get support for both DDR4 and DDR5 RAM, which gives you flexibility and allows you to utilize existing DDR4 memory or upgrade to the faster DDR5 standard.

As we mentioned, we have also reviewed the Intel Core i9-14900K processor in-house, and we think it’s another impressive CPU from Intel. While the performance is not very different from the 13th-gen equivalent, we did see that performance and efficiency were slightly better in the Raptor Lake-S refresh. The only issue we had with the 14900K was the price, which, with the discount, is much less of a problem.

Is this deal worth it?

Now, it has been speculated that Intel will release the Arrow Lake series CPUs (Core Ultra 200 processors) later in October, or at least this year. It is also being said that the company might soon announce the processor officially. So, these price cuts may be due to the upcoming CPUs ushering in the next generation.

But in any case, the Intel Core i9-14900K processor is a beast, and it will futureproof your build for a few years. Plus, at the current price, which is the lowest-ever rate, this is a steal. You’ll be paying only $445 instead of the ‘typical’ price of $546.43.
