Black Friday deals may be heading our way soon, but we’re spotting a lot of big price drops already from major brands that we think are well worth checking out. Case in point, this excellent mid-range RTX 5070 Ti iBuyPower gaming PC that’s had $400 knocked off its list price at Amazon, reducing it from $2,099.99Â to $1,699.99. We think you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck with this deal, especially as this build features 32GB of RAM, a large 2TB Gen4 SSD, and one of the very best gaming CPU releases of the past few years, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. If you’re looking for something that will be great for 1440p gaming, that won’t break the bank, then this is a great shout.

What makes this iBuyPower Y40 a great mid-range pick
First off, this gaming PC packs an RTX 5070 12GB, which is a good option for those who want something great for 1440p gaming, but without breaking the bank. It’s also a better option to go for than the previous generation, as you’re getting new features like DLSS 4 and MFG to push framerates even higher, and new and improved GDDR7 VRAM, too. In our review of an RTX 5070, we saw it easily get triple-digit framerates at 1440p and max settings, and even with ray tracing, with some less demanding titles.
The CPU is also one of the best gaming processors you can get, despite being a few years old now. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which we reviewed and were blown away by, has a unique 3D v-cache that’s stacked to allow for more data to be stored on it, and for that data to be accessed faster, too. It results in a significantly optimized gaming experience, especially if you’re playing at higher framerates.

This PC has opted for a good amount of storage and RAM, coming in at 2TB and 32GB of DDR5. That’s enough RAM to handle large open-world games, RAM-intensive creative applications, and keep everything feeling snappy and responsive. It’s also enough storage to handle larger gaming libraries and various hefty files, such as video footage or PSDs.
What you should consider before buying
There are a couple of considerations you’ll want to make before going for this PC, just to make sure it’s the right one for you. First off, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is a great CPU, but other options would be more suitable for demanding creative workflows and heavy-duty multitasking. For instance, the Intel i7-14700F is now cheaper as it’s older, and has a higher core and thread count than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and would also pair well with the RTX 5070.
The other consideration should be whether this card’s 12GB of VRAM is enough for what you’re going for. For most people, the RTX 5070 Ti is preferable as it has 16GB, making it more adept at handling more demanding titles and ray tracing. That being said, builds with this card can be closer to $2000. If you’ve got the budget, we’d suggest leaning towards these for the best 1440p performance for your money.
