AMD GPU price rises seem invetible at this point. There is no official confirmation from AMD itself, but GPU partners have been spilling the news lately, and now we have some more insight into the exact price changes. According to reports on Chinese forum Board Channels, which has close ties with GPU board partners, several manufacturers have warned to brace for increased costs.

The claims suggest that 16GB cards will rise as much as $40, while 8GB will rise by $20. This news follows reports from a PowerColor representation that AMD GPU prices will “kick up” in next year – the rep went on to say that the recent holiday sales (Black Friday and Cyber Monday) would be an ideal time to upgrade. The sales are now officially over, but stragglers may remain.

GPU price increase for Radeon cards

It seems safe to say that these increases are a result of RAM price hikes, which has seem DRAM prices surge by as much as 500%. AMD has also reportedly upped the price of its Ryzen CPUs for distributors, and consumers should feel the effect once stock is replenished following recent sales.

It is reported that several AMD graphics card brands have official notified their channels to prepare inventory. The first wave of price increases will be $20 for 8GB and $40 for 16GB, with an estimated overall increase of around 300 RMB for 8GB and 600 RMB for 16GB by the end of the year. No new products will be launched through 2027.”

  • RX 9070 (16GB)
  • RX 9060 XT (8GB or 16GB)
  • RX 9060 (8GB) – OEM only

These claims have also been shared by harukaze5719 on X, who is well-known for spreading hardware leaks and rumors. However, it should be treated as just that – a rumor – especially the claim that no new products will launch in 2027. AMD’s current RX 9000 series is led by the RX 9070 XT, but there’s no real competition for Nvidia’s top two cards (RTX 5090 & 5080). Those hoping for a higher SKU may be let down, and perhaps have to wait until the next-gen RDNA 5 GPUs.
