AMD releases new driver updates from time to time. These updates introduce various improvements and support for new titles. Recently, the company released the Radeon Adrenalin 24.20.11.01 GPU drivers, which not only add support for several new games but also include fixes for issues that players have experienced with AMD GPUs.
The biggest deal for us right now would be the confirmed support for God of War Ragnarok, which is coming to PC on September 19th, nearly two years after it originally launched as a PlayStation exclusive on PS4 and PS5. So, if you’re the proud owner of an AMD Radeon GPU and have been patiently waiting for Ragnarok, this is great news. The game’s PC system requirements were recently shown off in preparation.
Highlights from Radeon Adrenalin 24.20.11.01 GPU driver
To begin with, the latest GPU drivers have added support for God of War Ragnarok and Frostpunk 2. The first game is scheduled to release on September 19th, while the sequel to Frostpunk will become available a day later, on September 20th. Now that the compatible drivers have been released, AMD GPU users can expect smooth performance on day one.
You will also no longer have to worry about stability issues. The company has also introduced a Radeon Boost profile for Final Fantasy XVI through the latest update – this could prove to be much-needed given the choppy performance of rival Nvidia’s RTX 3080. For those who don’t know, this technology can improve the frame rates by dynamically adjusting the resolution during intense scenes, ensuring smoother gameplay without ruining the visual quality.
AMD FSR and Anti-Lag 2 also supported
The new update has also expanded the usage of HYPR-Tune to both new and upcoming games, including God of War Ragnarok, Black Myth: Wukong, and Creatures of Ava. What does this translate to? Well, all mentioned games can now take advantage of technologies like AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution and AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 for better performance.
Aside from adding support for games, the update has also introduced fixes for different issues users have been encountering. For instance, the bug that has been causing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Final Fantasy XVI to crash has been fixed. On top of that, DayZ players will no longer have to worry about facing performance issues while entering certain areas.
