AMD’s latest gaming processor launched on November 7th and the results are in for the new Ryzen 7 9800X3D. While we witnessed Intel’s Core Ultra launch performing worse than we imagined, the new X3D chip from its rivals has been a smash hit. In fact, the CPU sold out at many retailers soon after it launched and new sales stats reveal it’s top of the charts.

In fact, the entire top 10 – according to sales stats from German retailer Mindfactory – belongs to AMD. On the flipside, Intel’s new series is practically nowhere to be seen, leaving AMD with over 90% of the market share in the last week. With 9800X3D stock struggling since it was released due to high demand, it’s hardly a surprise.

Ryzen 7 9800X3D sold the most units in week 45

According to a post on X from TechEpiphany, Mindfactory sold a total of 4,245 AMD processors in week 45 (Nov 4 – Nov 10) and just 395 Intel processors in the same timeframe. That’s 91.49% sales versus 8.51% in favor of Team Red. Considering the 9800X3D didn’t even come out until the 7th, it shows just how far ahead AMD is right now.

As we can see from the data above, the 9800X3D is well on top with, strangely enough, 980 units sold. As we said, Intel doesn’t feature in the top 10 at all and you’d have to go all the way down to the i9-14900K (selling 30 units) before you find one. Possibly as a result of Intel moving onto the new LGA 1851 socket for Arrow Lake, the last-gen flagship remains on top, followed by the i5-14600KF and i5-14600K with 30 and 20 sold, respectively.

Speaking of sockets, we can also see that AMD’s latest AM5 takes the lead as the result of popular CPUs including the 7800X3D and now the 9800X3D. Even still, the older AM4 socket is still thriving and the more budget-friendly 5700X3D is a reason for that. In any case, it shows how much the gaming-focused X3D processors are favored by a large amount of consumers.
